Its almost as bad as that stupid "Catcher points excitedly at pitcher after a pitch" animation that happens way too often and looks stupid, especially when the Catcher is doing it in a game in which you're down 5 in the 8th.

I feel like you see catchers try and pump up pitchers more often in games where they're struggling. It's not about showboating at all, so I don't know why you wouldn't do that when you're down.

Except it also happens when you're up big in games and mop-up Joe Schmo gets a strike call with a runner on second.
