It is. Insofar that if they didn't make every bunt go 75/90 feet for offline gamers, I'd play it much more. And occasionally I get invested enough in an offline franchise to increase my budget.

But my passion is small ball teams ... imagine if madden made every empty set play useless... there are 2 basic offensivee strategies in baseball ; when to bunt and when to steal. They've removed half of it... for 2 years in a row now. I've bought the ps3 and and ps4 for this game and this game alone. There are no other exclusives that make me want this system.

I buy it because I'm loyal to the brand.. but honestly hit variety and whatnot ... that's cute, but I cant bunt.

Honestly, if osfm ever came out with 2018 updated rosters for 16... I'd never have to buy another version of the show. That edition may not have been perfect but it was 90/100.

I noticed they also updated pictures for some guys. Some pics are wrong too. Offline pitch speed seems unchanged. Was hoping Felipe Vazquez name would be updated, but it isn't. Online pitch speed better after a few conquest games. Patch seems rushed to quiet the community.

I figure some of them out, I went and look over a few on this list I did when game came out and quiet a few now have there player card.

I noticed Judge now wears his armband while batting. Before the patch, armbands wouldn't show up if the player wore an elbow pad. Not huge, but I always hoped they would fix this (been an issue for a couple of years now).

If it from the patch or it was from last live roster update and I just saw it ?

Well my question is, can they update the players photos from a roster or it need to come from a patch ?

Did the update make any changes to coaches or managers?

Maybe a more Aaron Boone-looking manager for the Yankees? Or maybe change the 3rd base coach to the correct #53 instead of the incorrect #64, and the first base coach to the correct #50, instead of the incorrect #53.

I've noticed a ton of guys with updated pics. Many for each team. Still a ton of rookies/low service time guys with no pics at all. The "wrong" pics happen once in a while but when I reload my roster file they fix themselves. Must be a glitch. And I can say from testing that the new player pics are tied to the patch, not a roster file.

Pitch speed seems A LOT faster for me now, I play in Franchise mode offline(oh wait they don't have online franchise )
Pitch speeds seem absolutely realistic now, which I don't want........I'm old and can't react in time or see the ball well enough.

Anyway, I had the difficulty set to dynamic and after about 10-15 games its set great for me, where I'm getting great results. But now with this pitch speed change I can't hit hardly anything.

Does anyone have a recommendation that I could set to ease the pitch speed back down without disrupting the dynamic difficulty?


Also, with this patch I've noticed the 3B moves in slow motion on bouncing balls and dribblers. Anyone else have this?

So they didn't fix offline bunting then?  At least my franchise A's don't bunt often, but I can't understand why they'd ruin a fundamental part of baseball because of online spamming.

I think you’re seeing a placebo effect or you changed your pitch speed by accident maybe? Pitch speed was only changed in Diamond Dynasty with this patch.

No I didn't change pitch speed. Maybe it's a placebo but I can definitely tell a difference and wouldn't put it past them to accidently do it for all modes.

But thats not really a suggestion to help with anything.

You can try lowering the pitch speed slider. I don't believe this will effect dynamic difficulty because the pitch speed slider is just a "visual slider" meaning it really doesn't effect gameplay/attributes at all.

at least that is my understanding of the slider.

Perfectly said. Bunting is a fundamental part of baseball . . . and it has been entirely removed from the game so online cheesers can't take advantage of a systemic flaw in the game. It's basically admitting, hey, we can't get this right so let's just break it so people online can't abuse it. And who gets the shaft? Anyone looking for a realistic interpretation of baseball.

Bunting is a fundamental part of baseball and another key part of it is that very few players in the modern era are any good at it.

I think The Show captures this aspect of it well, you can definitely lay down an effective bunt with a good bunter; but those guys are far and few between (like real life).

I would prefer though to see more bunts fouled-off rather than be bad bunts in fair territory.
