I expect nothing more in terms of reading comprehension from you. This thread has nothing to do with comeback AI and in retrospect I shouldn't have mentioned it in the OP. This thread is about patches changing the game for the worst in my opinion. I'm not seeing the same variety in hits. I'm seeing the grass knocking down shots down the line that are now resulting in singles rather than doubles. I am seeing the catchers not blocking NEARLY as many pitches in the dirt as they were previously, leading to free base advances by the CPU (I use manual running). I am seeing the foul balls going foul by 2 inches again. NONE of this has to do with comeback AI so we can kill that crap right now. I said in a previous thread that I do not see any comeback code this year, this thread was entirely about patches changing things for the worse. Don't start nonsense just for the sake of starting nonsense please. I know I don't have the best history around here in terms of comeback AI discussions, but this year I specifically mentioned I don't believe there is comeback code and I stand by that. I'm not seeing it nearly as much this year.

Thank you. This is what I was trying to say. The patches seem to have made the game play more like last year and negated the work they did that originally made this game better.

The third paragraph reeks of comeback code in your original post. There's no reading comprehension regarding your posts. So you have a job, etc., pretty sure we all do, you know.

        Give it a break.

You said, "I know I don't have the best history around here in terms of comeback AI discussions, but this year I specifically mentioned I don't believe there is comeback code and I stand by that. I'm not seeing it nearly as much this year."

no comeback code, but not seeing it nearly as much this year. Can't have it both ways. There is, or isn't.

Go back and read your own post before criticizing people’s reading comprehension skills.

This thread is par for the course for you and I’m not the only one who noticed what you were trying to do.

Don’t get pissy with me because your attempt to disguise the topic of this thread with a misleading title and brief mention of patch issues failed.

Well, one of the next patches should get hitting back where it was on release. I'm sure there's probably at least 3 more to come.
Though as for myself I can't say a patch did it. I use dynamic difficulty so I figure any changes for me comes from that.

My OP specifically mentions that this is the reason WHY comeback topics happen. In no way was it disguised as a comeback topic. I don't think there's any comeback code this year. I do think the cpu gets a boost just as the user does when they're losing, but in both cases, it can be thwarted.

A boost when losing? Really?Did you check out my franchise scores that I posted? I want to sign up for my boost.

There's no boost, or, it's a placebo boost, or, it's a secret boost, or many times it doesn't "boost", but some times it does. This is just silly. With ALL the attributes/levels/situations/player errors with the controller and logic....game doesn't need a boost. C'mon man, beatin' a dead horse.

At first I wondered if clutch attributes made comebacks more likely but doesn't clutch kick in during early innings too? I turned off vibrating long ago so it wouldn't help me with the strike zone when pitching.

I spoke to a developer in my PMs who actually agreed that he sees it too but can't attribute it to anything on the code side. So clearly I'm not the only one seeing it if a developer confirmed he's seen it too. If you want me to post the PM, I'm sure I still have it.

lol...so it's a secret boost. Not even a developer knows but he's "seen" it. So when I'm down 5-0, hit a homer, load the bases, the "boost" is on. But when I hit into a rally killing doubleplay the "boost" is off.

                      This is nonsense.

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

Your OP said that CPU rallies feel “completely scripted” and make you feel like “there is little anyone can do to prevent them”

Now you state that both CPU and User gets boosts when behind but it can be thwarted.

You say Comeback AI isn’t in game and in same breath say you see very little of it.

Seems to me you’re trying to say there is comeback code without saying there is comeback code.

First of all, quit the attitude. We can have an intelligent debate if you wish, but if you are going to resort to pettiness and insults, we can end it right here.

As for the discussion with the developer, I'm attaching it below. So while the developer attributes it to random number generation and statistical anomalies, he too admits he's seen crazy stuff. He actually went so far as to triple check the code because he was seeing it. Again, I'm not insinuating there is comeback code and this topic was not meant for this. I'm saying (1) the game was better for me before the patch, and (2) I see crazy things sometimes that really make you go hmm.

I stand by what I said. They do FEEL scripted and the developer pretty much confirmed that he sees weird stuff too, so much so that he's triple checked the code. I'm not saying there's comeback code. I'm saying there are some weird things that happen in the game at an alarming rate that really make you wonder.

Now, let's get back on topic in terms of the patches making the game regress.

Actually I think what he was suggesting was that he was ensuring something wasn’t wrong in the coding that caused “scripting” to happen. And after reviewing everything he is stating that there is no scripting in the game.

And he said that at times odd things happen in the Show just as they do in real life.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
