I'm getting lots of squeeze bunts when the cpu has runners on the corners in tie/down 1 late innings. I wasn't seeing it as much before (though it's always been an issue), but now, in every situation like that no matter the number of outs.Comment

I wish I could say the same, and I think that’s probably the difference between Analog and everything else. It’s just a bit too easy to shut the CPU down. I’ve only given up 2 HR in 10 games since the patch. In the last few games, I’ve been playing with CPU solid hits and power bumped up a notch (with your excellent sliders as my starting base, so power at 6 and solid hits at 5).
If Analog didn’t feel so damn good I’d switch, but nothing else feels as satisfying to me mechanically after playing analog since like 2012.
Maybe going to Legend will do the trick.Last edited by jeffy777; 06-14-2018, 11:01 PM.Comment

Re: 1.11 Tomorrow, Link to Detailed Patch Notes included
Actually in 5 at bats it is pretty easy to drive in 11 runs. You come up with the bases loaded even three times and hit three homeruns and you have generated 12 runs. In 5 at bats if you drive in an average of a bit more than 2 runs in each at bat, you can drive in 11 runs. The thing you are not taking into account is that 5 at bats doesn't have to mean you had the five at bats in a row. The game does allow you to sim till your own controlled player comes up to bat.Comment

Don't know if they changed anything with the crowd sound, but after the patch is anyone else hearing a sound effect of a child screaming "I want to go home" multiple times an inning? Happens in every stadium and is making me want to put my head through the wall... I've tried hard resetting my PS4, as I assumed it was a glitch, but alas the damn kid persists...
God, I wish I hadn't read this. Now I can't un-hear it.
And yep, it's really annoying. How did this make it in the game?Comment

I usually play with music on in the background, so it drowns things out a bit...but as soon as I turned the music off, I heard it instantly...and now I can even hear it over the music sometimes since I know it's coming. Ugh.Comment

I don't remember hearing it prior to the latest patch, but I only made the jump from 17 a week before it rolled out so I may not have noticed it. It is nearly game breaking for me...Comment

Lol ok. I dont play Road to the Show or whatever you are referring to. I was light-heartedly responding to someone else's question which was - how could you score 11 runs in 5 batters? (he was clearly assuming it meant in a franchise game, not RTTS). I corrected him and said not 5 batters, but 5 At-bats and that it is fully possible through lots of walks and HBP.Comment

I tried reporting the bug, but the sign-in required me to type a verification code that they sent to my phone. Problem is my phone died earlier this week and I don't have access to that number for now... What a headache...

Ahh well that explains it. I was a meter guy (as well as zone hitter) a looooooong time ago and knew my user input would eventually get too good.I wish I could say the same, and I think that’s probably the difference between Analog and everything else. After going to Classic on 09 I never went back. It’s been simulation baseball bliss for me.Now Playing on PS5:

Yes. Legend. I actually like both meter and analog. I started using analog the first year they put it out. (11 or 12 i think?). On HOF it was too easy simply because the CPU doesn't seem as dangerous as real big leaguers should. But on Legend, analog is not easy for me, even after all these years. I am with you that the Analog mechanic feels extremely satisfying, and is actually my preferred method by far. Somehow it feels like you are really throwing the ball or something. And i love putting touch on breaking balls. Its actually one of my favorite things about the Show.I wish I could say the same, and I think that’s probably the difference between Analog and everything else. It’s just a bit too easy to shut the CPU down. I’ve only given up 2 HR in 10 games since the patch. I pitch on Legend using both meter and analog in different franchises. And i actually play with the same pitching sliders on both interfaces and i get very realistic-feeling games and stats on both. (Both Human control and consistency at 1 i believe - trust me, its not drastic like it sounds. I had them that low on HOF too.) So i still get HBP's etc. My Analog franchise has a worse ERA and WHIP than meter right now and ive walked 9 guys the last 2 games. I average a fraction less than 3 BB per game on both franchises.
As someone who has used Analog and Meter for years, in my opinion both are valid options still - if you go to Legend, making the CPU not semi-pro. Staying at HOF could be good too, and use Classic like Armor suggested, as it leans toward being ratings-based, instead of more user-input-based. Many people use it and like it.
The only problem i have with classic is walking batters just doesn't happen enough. Since walks are such an important part of baseball, even though its supposed to be a Simulation, it actually isn't -because, either (a) the lack of walks have to be made up for with base hits, which raises CPU averages, (which means attributes/cpu hitting simulation is inaccurate or skewed to allow for that) or (b) the CPU will have to maintain a low OBP (meaning attributes/cpu hitting sim stay accurate). Either way changes the game flow enough to not be an 'MLB' simulation anyway. I used Classic in '12 and in '16 but it never satisfied my sim-itch. But it still can be a very fun way to play the game, and still produce exciting games, by not having as much input, and let ratings determine outcomes.
So there are plenty of options to keep playing. If you choose to stick to Analog or meter, in my opinion, Legend is greatness. Just turn those pitching sliders down, and... -important- get hitters to chase. And respect the good hitters enough to pitch around them when necessary.Comment
