Re: Stealing is Impossible
Instead of taking your extra step early in the pitcher's "routine" try timing it take that extra step just before he makes his move to home.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Stealing is Impossible
Try the holding L1 thing. Pickoffs are not a problem for me because i rarely ever take an extra lead, and it is usually not needed. I would reccomend against it. And i leave pickoffs higher (8). I have had a lot of success doing doing this.Comment

Re: Stealing is Impossible
I use R3 to set my runners up and trigger steal with L2 while in R3 view. The pitcher holds so I am not pressed for time. I hold L1 then click out of R3 view. No lead because I hate pickoffs. Can steal 2nd w 30ish Steal Ratings and 3rd with 70ish ratings.
Sorry if this method was already posted.Comment

Re: Stealing is Impossible
The thing that really annoys me about the stealing in all of the last 3 MLB the shows, is that regardless of the situation, I always let go of L2 right when the pitcher starts his wind up, and sometimes the base runner will start running immediately, and other times he won’t leave until the ball has already left the pitchers hand. And I’ve done it with the same player so it has nothing to do with that players stealing ability. Ive never had a delayed response with any other action in the game or any other game for that matter, so it’s not my controller, my TV, OR my ps4. And the most annoying part is that it seems to happen when the pitcher on the mound happens to have a slower windup.Comment

Do this..
Press L2 to que the steal (you'll have to use the L-stick to select a runner if multiple on base or else everyone will steal)
When you think the pitcher is going home, or he makes a move, press the L1 button to get a jump/extra step.
Report back.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

You don't need to hold L2 and release to make the player steal.

When you think the pitcher is going home, or he makes a move, press the L1 button to get a jump/extra step.

Do this people. It works well. The key is the moment the pitcher lifts his front foot (RHP) or if you time your jump to take off just before he goes home (ideal) you can steal bases. But counts, situational moments...all factor into the equation. You gotta steal in the right spots. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Stealing is Impossible
Yup same here. Was something like 11 for 40 on steal attempts until i started doing this, then I swiped three straight, two with slowish guys. Good stuff. Game changer.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

Re: Stealing is Impossible
This has only happened once to me, but the other night Benintendi was on first, and I didn't lead off with the L1 button, nor did I input any command for him to steal via L2.
Facing a lefty pitcher, I was trying to decide a gameplan he may have a good count to steal on, and before the pitcher delivered one pitch to the plate, he snap-threw to first.
Benintendi didn't even move. Did not attempt to get back, take off, nothing. Just stood there and waited for the first baseman to tag him out.
Now, I am guessing the game just decided Benny was napping, and he was going to be out, but I will be very disappointed if I am subject to some arbitrary pickoff, with no user-defined input as such.
I am calling it a senior-moment as it was just one time, but I'll be keeping my eyes open on this for sure.
