You guys are awesome compared to me, lol. I've got the variable difficulty locked into the lowest version of All Star, and default pitching sliders. For me, it gives me a good challenge.

61 games into my 2019 season, I have a staff ERA of about 3.50, and though I lead the league in strikeouts, I'm in the middle of the pack in hits allowed and homers allowed. I'd say that though I'm able to have my share of games where I allow 5 or fewer hits, I also have my share where I allow more than ten. The biggest challenge is to work around those guys on base and leave them stranded. In 2016, I probably had 5 no hitters a season. In this year's game, I've had one no hitter in about 250 games played.

In my last game played, the CPU out hit me 13 to 11, but I won the game 8-5. It was one of those where they just squared up my starter over and over, with lots of hits falling right between my infielders and outfielders. The CPU also has a distinct knack for hitting the ball right down the 3rd base line with their left handed batters against me, leading to a ton of doubles.

Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

I used to feel this way before moving up to Legend. I’m 6-5 in my ‘89 Cubs franchise with Legend pitching (pure analog). Feels amazingly realistic as good hitters are actually scary as hell. Just got pounded by Barry Bonds and his Pirates crew, losing the series 2 games to 1. If I make a mistake and leave one over the middle, it truly makes me yell out, “oh @#%!” because I know there’s a really good chance it ain’t coming back.

Exactly how i feel. You know its a mistake pitch as soon as it comes out of his hand and you just hope it stays in the yard against good hitters. Just cover your mouth with your glove when you yell it.

Its also very rewarding when you somehow work your way out of a bases loaded jam with 0 or 1 outs in a crucial point in the game. I think i get as pumped up over that as hitting a home run late. Sometimes my wife cant tell if im angry or happy from the other room.

its not just you but has more to do with user skill. the cpu will light me up every so often like a firecracker on the 4th of July.
unless you have maxed out the cpu sliders & minimised the human sliders then you got some tuning to do to find a happy medium. good luck!

I can only speak for manage mode but since patch 1.12 the CPU offense on default sliders is incompetent. Worst by far in the show 18.

Best case scenario we get another gameplay patch soon. If not - there are other games to play.

I dont play MoM, would adjusting sliders from default do anything to make it playable?

I just have a small sample size so far, but I've been cruising on Legend default for a while now that it started to feel almost too easy and predictable. I went into the sliders and bumped up CPU solid hits and power by 1 each and it seems like every mistake I make is getting mashed. If someone is pitching too well on Legend I would suggest starting there.

Play on legend with pitch speed up to 9 clicks and most computer has scored on me thru 10
Games is 4 runs. Before patch 1.12 I was getting 8+plus runs on me some games

In my experience the AI seems to only ever score runs from homeruns. Never doubles and then a single to bring in runners, simply solo shots here and there.

This is the last few weeks that I've played. Default Legend across the board. There are 25 games here and the CPU scored a total of 80 runs in those 25 games which equates to 3.2 runs per game.

I don't view that as incompetent nor has my experience made me feel as though the CPU cannot generate runs if I make mistakes or if they are just hot. They've scored on HR's, station to station, extra base hits, etc....

I play on Legend and after some slider adjustments i have seen very very realistic numbers from the CPU. The CPU is hitting the correct percentage of doubles and HR to match up with MLB percentages.

And if i take a mental break for a pitch or two, i usually pay for it. The CPU is very tough, but beatable. Their scoring play type percentages are right in line also. I give up scoring rallies of singles and doubles, as well as 2 or 3 run HRs.

The game looks amazing both on the field and on paper (i keep very detailed stats). Right now, i am averaging giving up over 5 runs per game and working to get that down into the 4's. I have been playing the Show for a long time and it is still a fight to win games.

It will probably take a miracle for me to even get to the wild card with the Rangers. But that's ok with me. But i definitely don't see the incompetent CPU thing.

If the CPU scored a bunch of runs off of me, say 8-10, then there are almost multiple HRs involved. But there are plenty of other times that they bleed me to death with singles. Many games, they will get a lot more hard hit shots between the infield and outfield than I ever do, and have a magical ability for their left handed batters to line doubles down the left field line into the corner. Sometimes it becomes a triple with a fast runner.

Exact reason I didn’t download the patch, I’m on 1.10 still and was finding the cpu to be decent
