    Urgency Issues

Have they still not fixed this?

Alcides Escobar hits a routine groundball to Tim Anderson and he scoops it up, shuffles once, then casually throws the ball to first base. Escobar is safe by a step.

I've still seen it as well, though not as often.

      Re: Urgency Issues

I’ve been having issues with this too all of a sudden it seems. Ball hit in the gap and my centerfielder nonchalants it and lets a guy with 53 speed leg out a triple. What gives? I can’t get around it because the fielder is stuck in the slow jog animation. Having similar issues with infielders like OP described.

Out of curiosity what type of throwing mechanic do you use? Do you have a meter?

Reason I ask is that I wonder if you may have done a softer throw thus allowing him to beat it by a step????

The issue is running as well as throwing and I've seen it too where the runner will start running in molasses on balls in the gap. The issue simply hasn't been completely rectified.

            Re: Urgency Issues

I haven't seen this as much this year as in the past, but its certainly still there. Lazy throws by the pitcher or second baseman to first, or the first baseman jogging to the bag while the runner is sprinting there full speed. GO!!!!

Equally frustrating is when my player will misplay a grounder coming to him, then after he slowly picks it up, will just stand there, and no matter what I do he WILL NOT throw the ball to a base until the play is over and everyone is safe. Even if he could have recovered and thrown the man out easily, like the CPU defenders try to do.

This is the reason the devs tend to overpower defense every year and ignore people like myself who prefer realistic gameplay. Tim Anderson is possibly the worst shortstop in MLB. He led all of MLB in errors in 2017. A lot of people want robots instead of reality and unfortunately the devs more often than not oblige.

                Re: Urgency Issues

Had an issue last night where my OF's let multiple fly balls (catchable ones) drop in front of them as they lazily jogged towards the ball.

Prior to that game, I hadn't had much of an issue since the latest patch. I might try and play completely disconnected from the Internet next game and see if that does anything.

Please don't take this as me stating there isn't an issue, but I have a question.

Were the players that let the fly balls drop in front of them tired prior to the game? Meaning did you get a notification that they needed to rest?

It would really be surprising if this would be a/the cause of this happening, but just asking.

Nope, I had rested several of my starters the day before, so most came into the game with at least half of their energy bar.

                    I use Auto Fielding/Manual Throwing.

Ok. Just thought I'd bounce that idea out there.

                      Thank you for the response.

For those that are still seeing the jogging outfielders, are you using AUTO fielding?

No worries. Trust me, I was going over every scenario I could think of to try and explain it (you'll see other issues I had with strike/ball calls in the Franchise thread).

I saw those. I just figured cross eyed Clyde was behind the plate that night.
