Re: Addition of Little Things....
Ribbon video boards need an upgrade. Currently they mostly show just the team name, same style in every ballpark. Occasionally they show the US flag.
Spoiler
I'd like them to show the player name when he's coming to the plate. Or the team logo. Taking it beyond a "little" thing I'd like to get a feature from the PS2 MLB franchise back where I could choose advertising deals for my ballpark and sell local TV and radio broadcasting rights.
Ok, now I'll just be greedy and say I want the MLB Network ticker instead of the current one (which hasn't changed for a few years now).Comment

I've definitely mastered this tactic since at least 16. Now if I could just train my eyes to avoid the standings screen that some times shows during the loading screen.

Something else I'd like to see added is mound visits by the catcher or an infielder, or the entire infield and catcher.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Addition of Little Things....
Like them.
I'd like to see more interaction among players and even umps. Walking up yo the plate, hitters will tap the catcher, or look back and talk a little with the ump. At first, players will chat and have fun. Especially on like bloop hits or reaching via error, they're usually smiling and goofing aroundComment

Re: Addition of Little Things....
I loaded up MLB The Show 17 just last week because I was sure that I remembered the catcher coming out to the mound to speak to the pitcher. Sure enough, I deliberately missed the strike zone about ten straight times and walked a few before the catcher was shown talking to the pitcher. In MLB 16, the catcher actually ran out to the mount, but in 17 it was a cut scene.Last edited by RogerDodger; 09-17-2018, 11:51 AM.Comment

Re: Addition of Little Things....
* Pre-Game, I'd like to see the National Anthem be played. Maybe show someone throwing out the first pitch. Maybe when a player in franchise gets into the Hall of Fame, the next season you show them getting a plaque or something from the team.
* Maybe have a trivia question in game as they do in broadcasts. Team specific, general, record specific...mix it up. Just something to emulate a real broadcast.
* 7th inning stretch...show the hot dog races, the Presidential races, the Philly Phanatic, or possibly games on the big scoreboard.
The trivia question is good as long as it was like the "On this day" fact they used to put in where it just popped up on screen. If you're wanting the announcers to ask the question , it's gonna get repeated and become annoying.
I also play every game and really like the starting pitcher warm up idea. How about adding a message from the pitching coach that he noticed the starter doesn't seem to have his curveball working today or something along those lines before the warm-up, or maybe a message saying he seems locked in and should go deep in the game.
I'm not knocking your suggestions, I'm just being honest with how I would deal with these if they were implemented in game.Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

This would be cool. I could only imagine what those on this forum would do with this... ballparks with their actual advertisements. It reminds me of those who helped mod mvp '05 and kept that game alive for many years after it's release.
..Which makes me think of another idea that I think would go a long way (debatable if this is even a "little thing")..
The ability to splice Matty V's audio and create audio for players who aren't in the audio bank yet. Each year there's always a handful of players who have to be introduced as "number (insert number)."
(Not sure if they patch in audio for players not in the audio bank).Comment

Re: Addition of Little Things....
Fix the lower-case lettering on the jerseys. The only player I know of that has a lower-case letter(s) is de Grom. I hate the, “a” on LaStella’s jersey, for example. It should be a capitalized, “a,” just a smaller one as opposed to a true lower-case, “a.” This goes for any other player as well. DeJong for the Cardinals, etc. Luckily it doesn’t affect the majority of names like this, the ones that start with Mc, since a capital and a lower, “c,” is the same obviously.

Re: Addition of Little Things....
yes, this is a VIDEO GAME first and foremost. however, it is a sim like a representation of the real-life game. that being said... I want a full on every nuance every single style of cutscene 2+ hr long game time real life tv full-on presentation I can have. I do not and every will ever button mash any cut-scene to speed up the game.
so everything I have read in this thread is a great start to what in my opinion would be the ultimate perfect game.
stat wise however overall in this game is lacking way behind where they could or really should be. team vs team stats every stat you can think of that us as managers/bloggers (virtual beat writers) need to help us to make decisions that can make or break a game or series.
I have a list of stats I would love for them to track in this game that is at least 20+ long... plus all the small things presentation wise I would love to see put in.
I watch a ton of televised baseball and this game is so short of real life presentation it isn't even funny. hey for all you button mashers you can do that all you want but for those of us that love this game and want the full experience in our video game of it we went well I want the full 3 hr experience of it... this is the only game I play so I have all the time all year round to play it..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

I would love to see everyone up in the dugout supporting the team at big moments in big games. Bottom of the 9th, down by one, there shouldn't be a player sat down in the dugout.Comment

Re: Addition of Little Things....
And to build on the dugout stuff, I'd like to see starting pitchers goofing around with each other in the dugout on their off days. Have them out of uniform and wearing a pullover or hoodie on their off days tooComment
