I look at now and see the fruition of my 2014 first rounder Jose Lozano absolutely dominate on the mound with one of my favorite pitch sets, or see the results of my patience with players like Luis Sardinias or Trey Bloom, both of whom after years of struggles and bouncing between the various leagues, landing on solid ground and becoming superstars.

I look to the future and I see a whole host of fun prospects to potentially play with, all with interesting quirks and unique roles they could potentially fill.

And all of this started in 2014. It's the best of both worlds. I get the enjoyment of playing my team today while I'll be playing with players in the upcoming draft literally years from now. It's pretty epic.

I'm definitely a stats junkie, but that doesn't mean I don't experience the, "journey." I have many, many memorable moments throughout my season. This is, without question, the best baseball (and most likely sports game ever; I don't play NBA 2K).

I started out simming four innings per game, then down to three, and by mid August I was just playing every pitch, the only exception being if I was getting blown out and it was late and I wanted to go to bed. I've found that I'm getting through the schedule just as quickly playing every pitch as when I was simming a few innings

One season a year for the last 4 years in my Cubs carry over. I enjoy it but it feels like a grind and chore by the end. Feel like cutting down to 81 or 100 played games next year but I guess we’ll see how I feel in April. I usually try to play a game a day. Maybe I need to throw in a couple week long breaks when I get burnt out.

            Re: For the truly dedicated.

I've always done this, but this year, I'm probably farther than I've ever been (2nd season, about a month in). This is due in large part to me finally falling out of love with Football (still like it, just don't find myself caring about the NFL or Madden this year).

At the beginning of this real MLB season, I decided I was going to invest in baseball and focus most of my time in that arena, and it just so happens that my A's are a really fun team to use in The Show this year. Lots of power and some good prospects. Won the WS in my first year, trying to defend the title with a reworked pitching staff. I play at least 1 game per day, but I often get 2, and sometimes 5-10 games played on a weekend.

Play every inning of every game, but do use Quick Counts. They help balance out my walks, issued and earned.

I highly recommend binge playing then fasting. Regimenting yourself to a game a day DOES sound like a chore. I play when I want, year round, yet I still somehow manage to average 1.25 seasons a year while enjoying it the whole time.

Let me be specific though, I don't get 1.25 seasons every year, that's just my average. My lowest year was 0.75 of a season and my highest was 2 seasons. I never have a goal is mind (other then to have fun).

It was my goal this year to finish a season but life just got too busy. I tried to knock out as much as I could before school started back up (college senior) but I didn't make it. Even though the real MLB season is coming to a close, I still want to finish my season. I'm not quite at the AS break yet, but there's still hope.
