Meaning, they only focus on online play, and once the game comes out, offline issues, tend to not get fixed with NBA2k. Actually the devs of NBA2k, has the deepest and best franchise mode in all of sports games. The problem is, a lack of fouls, and a lack of a variety of fouls, as in no charging, blocking, or fouls on 3pt shot attempts.
But this isnt the NBA2k site, and this has been talked about plenty over there. My point was, just like the other sports games, the devs arent focused anymore on offline Franchise modes. And because of that us offline Franchise players tend to get screwed.
They are more interested in gimic fantasy modes, than they are making a simulation sports game.
Im not saying this, as in they are screwing us over on purpose or to bash the devs by any means, as the devs have bosses that tell them what to focus on. And its quite obvious, this younger generation of gamers, are more casual sports fans, and they dont really seem to desire playing offline Franchise modes. And they are fine spending their money and/or their parents money to buy virtual currency, for these gimic modes, or to play dress up barbie with there created player, lol.
So it seems offline Franchise mode players, are the minority now days, so there is less focus on Franchise mode for offline players. Which up until a couple yrs ago, I didnt think would happen with MLBTS.
But more and more people are starting to admit that Franchise mode in The Show is really starting to get stale, and that there doesnt seem to be much focus by the devs, to move it forward.
I hope Im pleasantly surprised this yr, and the devs give me good reason to want to buy MLBTS19. While I love OOTP, and being able to play as the manager, and/or as a GM of a team, I do miss the feel of having the outcome be determine by my ability to pitch and hit.
I know MLBTS or any sports console game for that matter will ever be able to be as deep as OOTP is, especially when it comes to Baseball. So I get that, but when MLBTS on the PS4, IMO hasnt taken nearly as big a step forward, as I expected it too, from the PS3.
You can disagree with me, I could care less, thats your right, but IMO MLBTS hasnt made that big of a stride, from the previous gen console, when it comes especially to the Franchise mode. There was actually more Spring Training parks last gen, than there has been in the PS4 era.
I really thought by what they were saying, was with the PS4, they could really see their visions realized for the future. I guess maybe thats my fault for assuming, it meant making a more realistic simulation, and there vision was to make it more for gimic fantasy mode.
From a business standpoint, Id say it was probably a good move, because this Me Now Generation dont think twice about spending money on virtual cards packs.
Atleast back in the day when my generation would buy baseball, basketball, or football cards, some of them would be worth money one day, these virtual packs, only last 1 yr, and then they are worthless
