So you never see middle relief pitchers go 2 or 3 innings on a regular basis when playing or simming games? You must have a different version of the game than I do. Game I was playing last night. They finally took Thornburg out of the game after 3+ innings and after he gave up 7 runs. That happens to me on a regular basis and I know for sure I'm not the only one.

On a regular basis? No I haven't.

I've seen it happen but usually the situation of the game doesn't cause me to view it as anything being wrong with the CPU bullpen management. Typically the game is out of hand or the reliever's pitch count is low so them going an extra inning isn't alarming.

And everyone here knows that I get a special version of the game.

Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about with how screwed up trades are.

• 4/8 - Reds Acquired 3B Michael Almanzar from Nationals for 3B Drew Ward.
• 4/11 - Reds Acquired 3B Drew Ward from Nationals for 3B Michael Almanzar.
• 4/15 - Reds Acquired 3B Michael Almanzar from Nationals for 3B Drew Ward.
• 4/18 - Reds Acquired 3B Drew Ward from the Nationals for 3B Michael Almanzar.

On what planet would that ever happen in real life? That in a single week 2 players are traded 1-for-1 on 3 separate occasions? Let alone 4 times in 10 days? WTF is going on here???

That is hilarious. No you take him, no you take him...

I am currently in my 3rd franchise year of '18 and I have not seen that happen.

The biggest issue I see with creating a custom ballpark is the collision detection that we take for granted in the existing ballparks. I don’t know how they build that in for any kind of custom built ballpark. It was simpler back in MVP days when the ball disappeared straight through the structures. Building stadium components that you might be able to somehow knit together is a scale of work I couldn’t begin to comprehend. Especially when we expect to see updates to most current MLB ballparks on an annual basis.

This is a very good logical point. Maybe things will get easier on the PS5.

I've got less a problem with some one expecting it and more a problem with not being able to do squat about

*Trade logic is total crap still. The majority of trades that happen don't make one lick of sense.


*CPU roster management is total crap still. Have you seen some of the lineups that still happen? Have you seen the way the CPU handles their bullpen? It doesn't make any sense. Why are the worst arms always used unless it's a "save" situation? Why is the starting pitcher pulled in the 7th or 8th inning with 75-85 pitches and no runs allowed?


*Morale system is majorly flawed.


*Do the player quirks actually have any impact on the actual game play results?


*20/80 rating system for the draft was a great idea.


*Still not enough players in the draft. It's said that there's not enough players to have a full 10 round draft. Why are there so few players?


*The budget system is a good idea but needs to be done better or at least explained in detail to make it make more sense for off-season portion of the game. Like that whole "bank" deal. I still haven't figured out exactly what the point of that is.


*Carryover saves is a nice idea and works well.

While I agree, Create a Stadium or Expansion would be nice, their are still major issues at the core of Franchise Mode. They don't make the mode unplayable by any means but all these things you listed are frustrating.

The issue is Franchise Mode is not a money make for SDS and will likely never see a re-vamp. Hopefully they can make small enough changes to help resolve these issues. I think "keeping it simple" and fixing issues while adding small things is good enough to keep all Franchise Players invested. Bringing in Expansion likely just adds more of these small flaws like you mentioned.
