Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
Well given there several players available in free agency in any given offseason, there would be a portion of the additional players needed to fulfill the extra roster spots. Then they would have to expand the draft to more rounds than they have now. If you expand the draft to 10 rounds then there are at least 300 players to fill rosters not including the competitive balance pick rounds. Then they could fulfill any additional roster spots with random players.
Look I don't know a thing about game development. Carryover saves may prevent this personal wishlist feature from even being possible, but until they come out and say its not, then I'll keep hope alive.
But I took time to count the number of players that are currently in free agency in my franchise at the all-star break.
There are currently 161 players in the free agent pool, which is far..far...too many. Now granted there are currently 15 open roster spots in team's organization since they don't have 90 players due to roster moves, so that leaves 146 "extra".
If SDS were to expand the rosters to say 100, thus having a full 25 man roster for single A teams, then that is an additional 10 players per organization. Times that by 30 organizations and you have 300 additional spots you have to have players for. Well...in free agency alone we have nearly half that.
Now...the draft. The draft currently only lasts about 6 full rounds not including the competitive balance picks. Teams typically will draft 6 or 7 players when its done and over with.
If they could expand the draft to go 10 full rounds, not including additional picks, then that would give us 4 more players per year, or 120 more to fill roster vacancies.
That would get us to 266 of the 300 needed if rosters were to expand. So SDS would have to somehow come up with 34 spots. They could make that up with Joe Random players, or they could possibly look at to how players retire when they are young.
But as I've said before, I know nothing about game development. I have no idea if this is feasible, but thought I would at least share my line of thinking.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
It's pretty obvious that a lot of us are frustrated at the lack of attention to offline franchise the last few years. I figured a thread with some simple additions that would greatly help the experience would help (who knows the developers might read and implement a few):
1. Allow the user in 30 team control, or for a single team franchise control the Rebuilder/Playoff Push/Normal setting for the team.
I mean, really, it would be nice to have GM goals re-designed like NHL or at least some realism added to where the owner has set goals beyond just a record.
2. Simple fix - well, in theory. In the offseason, have all team-controlled players auto-sign and/or at least make them tradeable so that you don't have to wait until February in most instances to trade team-controlled/arb players in the offseason.
3. Allow cash exchange in trades.
4. Fix the damn budgets so they make some sense.
That's all for now.
#3 don't players IRL have to be under contract to be tradeable?
#4 and #5 great ideas. Budgets actually got worse.
I'd add make the amateur draft and scouting more sensible. I hire the best scouts and frequently the fully scouted player only vaguely resembles what I thought I was drafting. Both the budget and amateur draft actually got worse and make less sense now than before.
I'd add moving the create-a-team feature from diamond dynasty to be moved to franchise and then replace an existing team roster and budget with the created team.≡Comment

I spend hours wasting hours of time taking videos of those players and adding them into franchise. when all those hours could be spent playing the damm game. its frustrating. it wouldn't be something to hard too add in as long as it can only get edited over another fake player or something.Comment

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
A couple of things for me:
Just a bit more situational commentary to discuss things like a player being recently acquired by trade, just coming off of the DL etc.
Also, I think it would be awesome to see an injury occur in game. It doesn’t have to be graphic, but the player should be in some pain, roll around on the ground, grab their knee etc.Comment

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
Importing players into an existing franchise has been talked about for years, but never happens. this is the year that I finally put my foot down and dont get the game if it’s not in there. I never make it through more than three weeks of the season before I wind up resetting the season, over and over and over again. If the show doesn’t have this feature this year, I’m taking a year off. Afterall, even the joke of a baseball game Rbi baseball allowed you to import new players into an existing season last year.
My feeling is, if the show doesnt Include this feature this year, or in future years, I’m just not going to buy the game. I’ll just play OOTP. Im tired of buying the game, restarting my franchise 4-5 times, then just quitting altogether.Comment

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
This has happened to me a few times. Off the top of my head, I remember hitting a pitcher in the head with a comebacker (which was brutal but kinda awesome) and someone running down the first base line and crumpling to the ground (although it was a broken leg, which is pretty rare... Should have been a pulled muscle or something - which also never happens in this game).Comment

MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests
So I’ve just finished my 1st season in my Padres franchise and qualified for the wild card game. Problem is the wild card game didn’t feel ANY more exciting than a regular season game.
Would love to see them ramp up the intensity of playoff games. Every pitch and every at bat should feel pressure.
And they need the commentary to help reflect that intensity and pressure.
They could also incorporate this into DD. Get to 7 or 8 wins in battle royal and the pressure and intensity kicks up a notch.

Pretty obvious I couldn’t think of another example other than intensity and pressure [emoji23]
