Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests

Include the diamond dynasty create-a-team feature in franchise.

Rework budget so it is easily to figure out - get rid of the weekly number. You sign players to an annual number but the budget is weekly - makes no sense.

In progression have stamina for starting pitchers increase or at least stay the same instead of the current situation where stamina always decreases. By the time a starting pitching prospect makes it to MLB his stamina has declined to the point where he is a 4 or 5 inning pitcher.

Rework scouting to players scouted are the same on draft day as when scouted. With only 6 or 7 draft picks per season the players have to be more predictable than currently is the case. Spending a number one pick on a starting pitcher with stamina in the 60's is a complete waste. Also get rid of the 10-80 dynamic.

No offense to the devs but stop wasting developer time on stuff like critical situations and retro mode and fix/add/improve things which impact the base franchise mode.

Fixing the years old legacy issues (training, morale and drafting all full of them)should be the bare minimum tbh but I don't even expect them to do that with 100% confidence. Same goes for updating the players potential so people like Jose Ramirez, Kyle Baraclough etc don't all just collapse due to having the potential they were given 4 years ago.

These seem like such minor, obvious things that you should 100% expect to be sorted, even before you mention actual improvements, but unfortunately they've just let these things fester for years and you can't be confident they'll bother sorting them out

And they need the commentary to help reflect that intensity and pressure.

They could also incorporate this into DD. Get to 7 or 8 wins in battle royal and the pressure and intensity kicks up a notch.

On top of this, post season roster and manager logic needs a MASSIVE upgrade. Most teams still have a 5th starter on their roster but he isn't used and there is little-to-no urgency when replacing their starters either.

Mine is more immersion type stuff for presentation. the list is extremely long and I don't see any of it ever making the game ever. sad to say but true... I just don't see this dev team really care about making this game as tv realistic as it can be in that way.

I dont think its because they dont care, more to the reason a lot of stuff that the game needs isnt feasible. Maybe if OS started a go fund me/kickstart to donate to SDS for franchise mode. the reality is $65 a year from the relatively low amount of units moved isnt going to be enough to foot the bill. for better or worse, it is what it is.

I agree but rather than investing their time and efforts in other game modes, they should make what they have better.
They're not going to attract a huge new following, the baseball gaming community is only so big, so they need to keep them happy.

I didn't buy last year's game(first time in years) because it just didn't have the right additions for me. I don't play online and they seem to be mainly focused on that in recent years.
Make franchise the best in any sports game ever, that's your bread and butter, that will easily keep the core "Show" diehards happy every year. From there, expand but keep the diehards committed first.

yep, they need look no further than the direction NASCAR took the last 15 years. It started by bringing in new eyeballs resulting in alienating the base. Then when those same new eyeballs left for the next big thing, NASCAR was left holding the bag. I'm reminded of Aesop and the dog looking at the reflection with the bone in his mouth.

Exactly, the majority of their consumers are already here whether they accept that or not. That doesn't mean they can't make bold additions, but it can't come at the expense of the rest of the game, mainly franchise.
Keep the diehards here, natural some will tail off but also youth will take their place. They can't compete with games outside of sports, just look at other successful sports game and take from that but with your own twist.
There's a reason why MVP Baseball is still talked about today and it came out in 2005!

Don't get me wrong, The Show is an unbelievable baseball sim but I believe the majority of it's consumers who are frustrated with it is because they see all the potential it can be but year after year things are added or adjusted that are unnecessary or unwanted.

What are the chances we get custom draft classes? NBA2k has had it for years, Madden added it in their latest game. Heck even EA’s NHL which has no roster sharing has a way of transferring prospects into their franchise mode if you’re willing to make them. I don’t see why the show can’t find a way for us to get real life prospects into our franchise modes.

Mines real simple when u click the players card on offline list their accomplishments like
                      MVP’s
                      World Series rings
If they got selected to all star game
                      Batting crowns etc

Second I notice that some players are voted number one on all star but when you play game they aren’t starting ?

Lastly be a gm story mode like 2k games be more fun be able address media and market team and players

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests

                        - A realistic trade deadline with teams that are buying for the pennant race and teams that are selling off pending FAs for prospects. It would be great if teams could declare themselves "buyers" or "sellers." That could also carry over into the offseason. In trades, a player's value decreases the closer he gets to free agency.

                        - Rotating schedules. Duh. It'd be nice to have random spring schedules as well.

                        - Generic all-star game uniforms for future seasons. It's tiring to play the 2025 ASG in Philadelphia with the current year's uniforms.

                        - Better trade logic. Every year I see players get traded right after signing as free agents. Or, there's the times when recently acquired players get traded again (sometimes to their old teams).

                        - Teams shouldn't have five starting pitchers in the playoffs. Everybody has four-man rotations.

                        - The playoff eligibility roster rules are completely unrealistic. Been busted for years. If you are on the 40-man roster by a certain point of the season, you can be added to the playoff roster. Not the way the game has it (must be on 25-man at the end of August).

                        - The timeline for the offseason is completely wrong. Most major free agents don't sign in November. Should be an easy fix.

                        - If you're going to have team budgets, make them realistic. The Brewers and Rays shouldn't be going for the same FAs as the Yankees and Dodgers.

                        - Playoff games don't have the right atmosphere. Too many empty seats, even in the World Series at Wrigley. That would not happen.

                        - Under the hood stuff has a lot of issues with player progression and regression. Maybe consult with OOTP or mimic what they do? And I saw too many early retirements in 18, even though that was supposed to be fixed. The issue with not being able to trade team-controlled but unsigned players needs to be taken care of as well. Makes trading very difficult up to mid February.

                        - Elite players should never sign extensions, and instead just wait until free agency. Only players below certain ratings and potentials should even negotiate for extensions. See Bryce Harper and Manny Machado.

                        I'm sure there's more.

Re: MLB 19 Franchise Addition Requests

                          Hey everyone.

I wanted to throw my two cents. It appears people want some of franchise management like in OOTP, which I have been playing I do not disagree, especially when in my first year the Commissioner expands into two cities.

Just a few things I wish MLB The Show had many of them has already been expounded on.

                          - Yearly salaries not weekly when dealing with budget management.
                          - The option to extend contracts within the season.
                          - It would be great for realistic salaries. Not sure why they aren't it is public knowledge.
                          - Three way trades or add more than three players and/or throw some cash in the deal.

                          - Somehow keep the system from changing your lineups when sim a game or season.

                          - Rotating seasons. Tired of seeing the same NL inter-league teams.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Like many I will probably wait until the details come out for '19. It took me until early summer to buy '18.

Here's some of my wishes. I love what I'm seeing suggested as well.

                              1. Expansion/relocate - I feel this is something every fan of the series would enjoy. Hopefully this would come with a complete stadium creator. (I can dream, right?)

                              2. To agree with everyone before me the budgets need to be simplified.

                              3. Custom draft classes - Allow us to share them as well in the vault and upload them for the draft. It will make the draft more meaningful for some of us.

                              4. Rainout with rescheduled double headers and expended 26 man rosters for double headers - Double headers and losing scheduled day offs is a real thing. Make us have to deal with this in the game. The loss of several days off helped sink the 2018 Cubs so it is a real thing.

                              5. Big game commentary - If I'm playing my division rival and it is a key battle for the division, give us more of that playoff feel and make the commentary aware of the importance of this game.

                              6. Full playable single A teams - It is time to add them to the list. With this, expand the minor league stadium. (would love to see some real stadiums but if we get that create a stadium then we can do this.)

                              7. Chase or tank trade logic - If a team is done and feels they can't make the post season, make them offer key players for prospects. In doing this, allow more players to be included for these types of trades.

                              8. In addition to the above, allow some of the expectations to be such as "rebuld." Say I start with a team that is older, let rebuild be an option so that way when I trade off older players for prospects I could be rewarded by the owner.

                              9. Second commentary team for MLB Network games - I know this one won't happen, but I'd love to see a second team added just for MLB Network games. Maybe make the main guys the MLB guys and add a more regional sounding two man crew for the rest. It would help add some difference to the MLB and playoff games.

                              10. Prospect watch - Give us a ranking of our top prospects and an update on how they are doing the minors. If I have a guy lighting it up on A ball, let me know and maybe even have commentary mention it during my Major League games.

I'm sure there are others I forgot but I wanted to share from here.

Fix how random and quickly regression happens for players. As of now, no player in the league that's a star at 25 can even play on a roster in their mid-late 30s because of the huge cliff their skills drop off of. They start to regress as soon as they hit their peak instead of staying at that peak through their prime years.

Progression and regression should be tied to individual skills. Guys coming into the league should be the most athletic they ever get, followed by steady decline of that though the years.

Certain attributes should never really decrease like vision and discipline unless the players just have a terrible statistical season.

I think AI lineup management needs a huge overhaul as well.
