Ridin won't be working on OSFM rosters anymore for the Show.

Whether others within the group will keep it going remains to be seen.

Honestly, I think this alone is going to (1) cause MANY people not to buy the game, and (2) really affect SDS when they realize just how important OSFM was to the realism and immersion of the game.

Yep. Not having on line franchise again would make me skip. They said they couldn't get it finished in time for 18? Well now they've had since 17 to get it done. Obviously I doubt they will but here's to hoping.

That isn't what they said at all. They literally made the decision to remove it.

It was in previously so it wasn't something they needed time to get put in.

Off-topic but, while I dont play online, franchise or otherwise, I'm believing online franchise will return in 19. If only because you have to purchase PS Plus to play online. And while it was a hard decision they had to make, I'd like to think it was not the choice they would have wanted in a perfect world. But you have to go to war with the army you have, not the one you want.

I guess something crazy like removing Franchise Mode entirely would make me skip. Other than that, I'm in for 19. I can't play OOTP anymore because I have a Chromebook and I have to get my baseball fix somehow. I still enjoy 18 quite a bit. I just want more customization options in franchise, like changing number of innings, division switching, etc. I personally don't think there's gonna be an expansion/create a stadium or anything like that. My expectations aren't out of this world like they were last year. I just wanna play some baseball.

same for me.. I hope there is a lot of people like you and me out there still to make them put it back. because when they do that's when I buy again for sure and so do all my friends and we can have a league again. I miss that. despite it's issues it was my favorites online league to be involved in.. and i do fifa, nhl, and pes online leagues as well.

I am on the wait and see train. I've pre ordered for years now but after 18 and the fantastic opening day product that was (to me) patched back down to 17 (it was as if they progressively rolled the game back to 17. 18 was so fresh and it just was stale at the end).

I've not been on the wait for a discount level for a MLB game since I have been paying for my own games, so this will take some restraint, but ultimately, if this year is too close to last year, I won't hesitate to skip. And I do not say this lightly, as anyone that knows me can attest. I take my baseball very seriously.

48 HOURS, my friends!

We are 48 hours from the beginning of the hype train.

We should get a much clearer picture of some of the newer additions to this years game with the gameplay trailer on Tuesday. Hopefully it coincides with a Twitch Stream schedule.

I agree with this 100%. The constant patches for the past few games have driven me crazy. I have bought this game day 1 since MLB '09 but now I won't even consider buying this game until around October.

Its funny, but I had no idea that you had to buy a PS+ membership to play games online until this Autumn. I hadn't had broadband since the PS2 days, and when I finally got hooked up in September and tried to play a game of Madden, I was in for a surprise.

I'm not about to pay for the special privalage of playing games online, since it would always be a small percentage of what I would do anyways, but I think that you make a good point.
