Yea with a proper roster editor I would edit way more players and rosters than I normally do. It just takes too much time. The roster vault is nice but I don't always love the rosters I find, even OSFM.

Even if we can't get an editor, just give us the ability to add stats and edit service time. It can't be that difficult of a wish to grant.

I've seen the guts of the Madden files. Its basically a matter of how many doors do you want to open? Every player has an ID, that #'d ID is linked to; a portrait file --> franchise/career stats --> season stats --> in-game commentary regarding the player --> injuries --> so on and so on... its hardly rocket science.

I refuse to believe SDS has it structured some other way. It wouldn't make any sense.

Would someone care to elaborate on what the Op means by a roster editor? I’m pretty clueless. Is it like coding or something of that nature? All I know is a few weeks ago I started a MLB roster project doing all rosters from 2016 to 2008. I’m on to 2015 right now and I already find myself cutting corners on overalls. It takes 8 hours of work or more to finish a roster and that is with a lot of the players I need still in the game and me importing players from the player vault and the 2007 OFSM roster. I can’t imagine how many hours this project would take if I was starting from scratch. How many hours would a editor be able to save me?

You would basically create your roster on a pc, and would be able to edit more than what you currently can in game. Doing this on a pc would be faster and easier IMO because for one, you could enter your attribute numbers straight away instead of a sliding bar.

I’d offer up 3k if somebody can develop one of these based on the following:

            - have it work where you can go back to the older roster sets, so let’s say at least between 16 and 19

            - allow where you can pull up a csv file or spreadsheet that will show which faces, etc the uneditable players have (for manual recreation in newer versions), and allow stat populations

            - have it released by the end of April

            IDEALLY:
            - have it where you can import players from pervious years easily (like the old madden one on here had)

            - or even similar to the old NBA2K one that was on here

If somebody can meet those conditions and develop one, I’d pony up.

Re: We desperately need a roster editor!

I'm all in on this too. I used to edit rosters year after year for the MVP05 community and upload them for use. Now I play MLBTS16 on PS3 because I never got a PS4. I'll probably get a PS5 in a couple years but I would be willing to chip in/develop rosters if there were a proper editor. I agree that it's a $$$ issue too with not releasing one, but I would be one that still buys the new games if I have the proper systems...and still work on rosters for older ones because I enjoy it. Another editor I did for MVP05 was the schedule editor so you could play with the current year's schedule.

Re: We desperately need a roster editor!

So, I started messing around with the rosters today...I’m not a computer program expert by any means so I’m probably getting close to my ceiling on this but I’ve made SOME progress and have SOME gameplan. That said, I wouldn’t be able to create a program, but I could possibly help with a blueprint..

I’ve gotten into the Hex version of a roster file. I’m going to play around with making small changes and run a comparison of the files and see if that may possibly lead me to something of maybe figuring out what #s apply to what aspects of the players. It’d be ideal to be able to correspond the hex text to specific players, but that may be a big task. This is likely to require more time than I have available but I’ll keep updates here so maybe somebody with more programming knowledge can pick up the baton and take it across the finish line...

SO, an update...im not sure if this is progress or not but heres some of the pirces ive put together..

I tried to decrypt the .bin file that comes with each roster update when put on a USB using a PERS game decrypter, and came to this (1st pic) in the Hex editor. thats different than the non letter jumble I had previously seen. not sure it means anything though.

But i DID see that it uses a similar key to some games that apparently were previously cracked,

Going back 3 or 4 years and being a member on MVPMODS and messing with MVPEDIT back in 2005 I always wanted an editor for this game so I could have player models any time someone gets imported over SDS removes them during the year.

So couple years ago I went back to MVPMODS made threads there but I always got answers PS4Vcant be decrypted.

It would be amazing if someone could take MVPEDIT or the M12 EDITOR and some how convert it into a MLB THE SHOW EDITOR I am available to help, use programs I have for both editors and other programs I still have on my PC I came across over the years to share with anyone who thinks this is possible.

well it took years for the madden PC mods to be cracked, once they finally did they were even able to add in uniforms etc.

and madden for PS3 I remember using that editor for 1 year there until they made the huge CFM change which turned me off madden ever since.

People said for years the PS3 couldn't be cracked but someone managed to do it for madden, I am sure we can never say never with this. but the things I could do with a editor would be amazing

I'd throw $1000 at this as well, if $$$ is all it will take..

So, I’ve sourced this project out on a programmer website. Currently have 2 working on it with possibly a third. Gave them a deadline of end of month and whoever submits the best working one wins. It’s not gonna be cheap, but hopefully this will get it done. I sent them a copy of the madden editor as well as the redMc that was used for NBA2K as something to model it on. Once I get a copy of a working version, I’m going to give a copy to ridin because he does all that work on the OFSM and I think it may help him. Then I’ll make it available on here. There will be a small donation requested for it (like $20) because again, this thing ain’t coming cheap unfortunately. But hopefully, fingers crossed we’ll have one by end of April.

That said, I believe it is possible. When looking at the .bin file, it had a similar key to what has been cracked for other games on psxhax or whatever that site is, so it should be doable. It just takes the right amount of time and skill, which hopefully it’s in the hands of the right people.

I used most of the Madden PC Utilities extensively. Especially the roster and .db editor.

That's great news, hopefully it can be done. Will the editor be similar to the Madden one or MVPEDIT possibly? I do rosters as well and this would be a game changer for so many others.

I can help when needed and will donate. I also do a pitch edit chart and I have been doing those the last 4 years be great hopefully to put that data in later down the road.

I can help when needed and will donate. I also do a pitch edit chart and I have been doing those the last 4 years be great hopefully to put that data in later down the road.

I didn’t have the MVP mod, so it’ll likely be more like the madden one, although I have a feeling it’ll end up coming back more like the Red MC that was made for 2k. Which I’d be fine with too. The first guy hit me for a very high quote so I told him I want it in a week then lol, so hopefully I’ll have it by next Sunday. The others gave estimates of 20 days.
