I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I want to see how far they from 17 to 19 with Humanity AI with the addition of "pre-catch" animations. This is posted only as a point of referene.

Sighs.....that just makes me feel old.I remember saying things looked "So 70s"....
But yeah, I reinstalled 16 and 17 recently to grab some classic rosters so I could start some franchises to roll over to 18 (and thus to 19). The UI was just bad compared to 18....I was like, "how did we stand this?".
SDS did a fantastic job overhauling it for 18.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Sounds like a good feature to improve franchise. Could be similar to OOTP in that a players defensive ability at a certain position improves the more they play it.

Re: MLB The Show 19 - New Features Explained (Ramone Russell Interview)
Man...
Right from the start one of my most hated things about The Show is apparently in MLB 19, yet again.
Ball hit to the second baseman's left, goes into the hole, wheels on his back foot and throws a perfect strike to the shortstop covering the bag, who completes the double play. This is one of the reasons that year after year, users perpetually lead the league in grounding into double plays. For all of the talk about defensive improvements, the last thing I want to see is more of this. Do Major League second basemen make that play? Yep. But not often. It's a super high-risk throw that should come with a huge chance of an off-line throw or air mailing the ball into the outfield. I'd love it if there were some kind of calculation factored in here in this particular situation. If a player is rated 95-99 in fielding he has a 90% chance of making that throw. If he's 70 or below, his chances of throwing it offline or into the outfield should be around 75%. Again, risk vs reward, and having a better defensive second baseman should make a HUGE difference there.
In previous versions of the show, and I'm assuming 19 will be no different, it didn't matter who you had at second, he's making that throw. Every time. It got so infuriating with me that last year around the All-Star break I started turning into the other team when I hit a ground ball into the hole to the second baseman's left and I made the other team throw it to first. Again, this is a rare throw. Nine times out of ten the second baseman is taking the out at first.Comment

The new animations look nice and all. But I feel like I've heard this same spill already. They're talking about players making throws based on the speed of the runner like it's new. The game looks so dated to me. The Show has been the most underwhelming sports game of this generation. Graphically, I expected so much more with the leap to this generation.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 - New Features Explained (Ramone Russell Interview)
I feel bad for the people who watched this without seeing the Twitch streams, which quite frankly kinda blew my socks off. This interview just doesn’t do justice to the level of detail we saw yesterday on streams, and the bullet points and example animations they highlight here seem a bit lackluster compared to the truckload of beautiful plays they demonstrated on Twitch. Really wish they could just send IGN a highlight reel of their Twitch stream instead of having to be interviewed like this. Like I said, this video simply doesn’t do justice to all the improvments they’ve poured into the gameplay this year which they showcased in the streams.Last edited by jeffy777; 02-15-2019, 08:56 PM.Comment
