Re: MLB The Show 19 Hands-On Preview

why only 30 minutes with the game? seems rather short to get a feel and look at the game and to play on all the difficulty settings.

sounds like a few tweaks and improvements to game play, but is it worth the full price of admission? I don't think it is. I for one will be skipping this year.

I love "looking into for the future." I've heard that for 5 years. The gameplay keeps getting better but they don't care at all about Franchise players. We'll all probably buy anyways so why would they care?

Another good tidbit we got from his "30 minutes" is that balls bouncing in the outfield and over the wall have been worked on. I'm expecting that not only will this reduce ground rule doubles, obviously , this will also have an effect on how balls are played/mis-played off the walls.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Does it bother anyone else that we are less than a month out and we STILL haven't seen any actual gameplay?

being upset there is no info about franchise quite frankly feels like a waste of energy and I’d like to be one of those people that says “guys let’s wait for the stream” but I think realistically everyone needs to decide if they are OK with the changes being super polished gameplay. If not then it’s probably best to just accept that this years Show might not be for you.

I really hope we are pleasantly surprised with some shocking franchise news in the stream but I really don’t see it happening. From a marketing sense it doesn’t make any sense to sit on it and if that is what they are doing than kudos to Them for fooling me but I fully believe , with how vocal people have been about the lack of franchise improvements over the last few years, if there were any significant changes it be the first thing we would hear about.

As for myself as a franchise only guy, If it turns out the only real benefit of this years game is super refined gameplay, im OK with it.

                  Not one bit.
This game delivers for me every year.
Why would I start doubting them now?

Unfortunately limited play time makes it tough to get a feel but there were some tidbits. Was this the person that was going to get those questions answered? Because there is no way to gather facts in 30 minutes of game exposure.

I'm not 100% sure that he's the person that Steve was collecting gameplay questions for, but he does mention in the article how he asked some of the questions that have been brought forth by OS.

The Show's franchise has been relatively the same for years now (which is why I haven't bought the game for a few years), but I'm sure they added in a few bells and whistles to make it seem new when it isn't. Probably don't want the limited changes to get exposed this early so they're going to keep it hidden until closer to release.
Bought a ps4 in 2016 primarily for the Show (with a couple of other titles in mind as well).

After 2017 franchise mode became quite stale to me and I sold my system. I get they have a small team, but there's just SO much more they could add.

did they fix the pitch count where it would be like 2 balls 2 strikes but 0 pitches thrown?

Nah, Pre-orders are pre-orders whether they are 2 months, weeks or days before release.

I trust the sources that we have heard from so far enough that if it was horribly broken we would know. Then we should get many hours of gameplay during the Dev tourney.
