Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
But what they are doing is taking out modes that alot of people enjoy.
Will I pick up The Show this year? Yes
But not until Rosters are released and or price goes downComment

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
Im just on here looking to see what people's opinions are-
I myself bought a Playstation for MLB The Show and for no other game. But for me the game the past few years has become stale.
Im a Franchise only player and now with No Online Franchise, Still No Create A Stadium or Relocation and Ridin Rosters not coming out til mid Summer I dont know if this game is a must have anymore!
Just curious to hear some feedback!
Cheers!NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
Not by a mile - the game is improving by leaps and bounds every year. Gameplay is going to be infinitely better and more ratings-oriented (and 18's was incredible), Moments is a terrific side-mode, March to October is going to be revolutionary for franchise-style gameplay and the most played mode in the game (RTTS) got a massive upgrade. Hell, with the added presentation elements, even traditional franchise mode is going to much more immersive in-game (where it matters). All of these are for offline players too, which makes it unique among the major sports game franchises which greatly favor online competitive players both in terms of modes and gameplay.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
The game is not going anywhere.
But this year feels different in a couple ways when it comes to franchise mode.
The WSJ and other game reviews are writing articles about the game being too conservative and the lack of attention to franchise mode. I don’t remember that happening before.
Livingston’s interview felt more like it was a reaction to all the negative feedback and not a long planned article to promote the game.
And the level of frustration on this site seems sooo much higher this year. There have always been people complaining but it seems like the first time almost everyone is in agreement with the modes lack of attention.
Livingston said he reads OS comments. If he actually does, it would be impossible not to see the level of users frustration. And if you read the comments on the games twitter post’s it is a majority of people complaining about franchise mode no matter what the post.
If they release the streaming schedule next year and at least one is not totally dedicated to franchise mode improvements I will be convinced the mode is dying.

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
Probably not much. I remember being underwhelmed when the first game on PS4 came out. Usually takes a year take advantage of a new console. So that means the best case scenario is we have the wait for MLB the Show 22.

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
19 is more than likely "the end" of my annual purchase on opening day. In my honest opinion, if you're a franchise gamer they don't add anything to warrant an annual purchase. SDS by way of development is telling you not to buy if you're interested in franchise mode. The Show at this pace is becoming like Madden for me, I wait till Xmas and get it digitally for $12 dollars.Comment

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
The game itself won’t end anytime soon but maybe it will for you and if things keep going the way they are maybe it will start to come to an end for more and more franchise players, but that’s the way sports games are going in general. It’ll never be the same again for offline and franchise modes. Just because you no longer enjoy it doesn’t mean the game is in trouble. Even if more and more franchise players stopped buying yearly every year I doubt it would be enough to kill the game.
This forum doesn’t accurately represent The Show’s player base at all. Here on OS it’s mostly people that mainly play franchise mode, then RTTS, and by far the least cared about mode on this forum, DD. Outside of this forum it’s pretty much the other way around.Comment

Re: Are we nearing the end of MLB The Show?
You guys all bring up valid points and I appreciate that- what I guess I was trying to get at is
A. They are a very small production staff working yearly on this game
B. With sales staying the same or even slightly going down cause they arent adding new content or bringing in a new fan base and getting rid of Game modes that people play they run the risk of losing even more Diehard Show Fans
C. Im tired of hearing "Wait til Next Year" or wait til PS5
D. Will I buy the game this year? Yes at some point but I also feel that if they continue down the path they are on they may lose their Fanbase all together or maybe 2k or EA gets back into the game!Last edited by Lisac; 03-15-2019, 07:21 PM.Comment
