Despite an amazing rookie campaign that resulted in Crash Davis being named AL Rookie of the Year in 2019, White Sox manager Rick Renteria has decided to go with Alex Moreno as his starting catcher entering the 2020 regular season. The decision has some baffled, including Davis, who hit 23 home runs and drove in 51 runs in on 54 games last season.

"It's never an easy decision when you have two young, quality players at the same position," said Renteria.

The switch-hitting backstop, Davis, while young was not exactly pleased with the decision. "I can't really say I like it. I'll just have to make the most of the opportunities given to me, which I feel like I did last season."

I go through slumps and hot streaks throughout the season and I love it. I keep the same difficulty and slider set that fits me very well. The month of May I won player of the month with a .360 avg, 8 HR, 21 RBI. But the month of June, barely hit over .200.

During slumps I’ll still get some good contact hits, but they seem to be right at the fielders.

I’m loving this game so far.

Do any of you feel that the team you play for is always making trades? Sometimes too many? I know there’s a slider to turn down organization trades and I may turn it down a few notches if it continues this path.

I will probably get blasted for this but since it doesn't really matter, I will share my thought on the subject.

First about everybody getting drafted by the Orioles. Well I'm sorry it kind of makes sense.

A. They are the worst team in Baseball without a single player in the field being above a mid 70's.

B. They have the first pick of the round.

C. Why would they not pick any fielder coming out of the draft that is an A or B rated hot prospect.

Take into account the added equipment bonus' and such and at Double A you are just about as good as any player on the team that is at the Major League level. Base Attributes my guy is a 72 add in the custom equipment and I am pushing 80 which makes me the best fielder in the organization. So of course you get called up to the Majors quickly.

Is this annoying, yeah I guess. But you CAN pick your own team, or ask for a trade. Don't use high bonus equipment. There are ways around it. I just don't see it as a flaw in the game. To me it seems to make sense.

Completely disagree with this. If it was position specific ....maybe....but this happens if your a catcher, RF, 2B, RP - doesn't matter. Completely unrealistic. I have no issue with being drafted in one save/player by the Orioles but being drafted by the Orioles no matter how many times I create or what position I play makes NO sense. Especially in the 15th round or deeper. Love the game Bullit...don't get me wrong but this should be more random. This is closer to a "bug" than realism.

RTTS Free Agency Broken?!

I posted this to main page before I saw this thread. Hoping someone can offer some help...

So after 7 seasons I finally get to free agency and go through the entire agent phone call process and so of course I was anxious to see what kind of offers would come in but nothing happened. It just takes me to spring training and I’m all of a sudden resigned with the same team for same amount of money and for 6 more years! I tried everything to see if I get different results but each time it just goes straight from the agents conversation about upcoming offers straight to spring training. I didn’t even get an official offer from my current team. What the heck?! Has anyone else experienced this???

Sidenote - Not sure it should matter but I did import my player from previous years.

How good is the mode this year in your guys opinions from last year? Getting the urge to buy the game used in a few months.

So a couple of questions from a bit of a noobie. Well, I played The Show in 14/15 but haven't since (and by the way, it has improved massively since then - now I feel there's lots of options for me to play and train and improve my player whilst still trying to play proper baseball - whereas in previous iterations, I'd have four week stretches, even in the Majors, where all I was trying to do was walk or hit home runs or not strikeout to complete the dumb challenges and not get benched!).


Firstly (and I think I saw this confirmed elsewhere on this thread, but still gonna ask it) - I was asked by the manager to try out a new position, 1B rather than LF, and didn't want to say no cos I'm a 'Heart and Soul' kinda guy. But frankly 1B sucks and it's brought down my rating considerably. I want back in the outfield. Is that going to happen naturally (with 1B now included as a secondary position) or is there a way for me to force it?


Secondly, am I right in saying that the opportunity to bond with teammates/jaw with rivals/hit the batting cage comes around only once a series? Don't want to miss opportunities to make buddies and raise stats...…


As an aside, like most everyone else seemingly, I got drafted by the Orioles. Doesn't bother me right now (although it probably would if I played multiple different characters), only the Bowie BaySox in my world really, and I mean really suck. We're currently 6-24 (!), despite my batting .333 and leading the league in HRs. All of the SPs have an ERA above 5, and there's only three other hitters with an AVG above the Mendoza line (one of whom is Chris Davis - ha ha!). If this keeps up, I'm going to need a promotion or a trade to save my character from depression!

Does anyone know if you can raise your potential as you play? Because I tried skipping the entire showcase and I ended up drafted in the 30th round to the Brewers instead of the 15 round to the Orioles.

However, my potential is D. I'm not sure how much that effects anything, maybe you move up the ranks slower, but I still don't want to be D.

Why is it that you have two choices; pick the team you want after the first showcase and forego college, or go to college and get drafted by Baltimore?

It’s honestly annoying getting drafted by the orioles every single time either in the 15th or 16th round no matter what I do. I’m always getting drafted by them as a closer. I’ve gone this at least 10 times it’s always them drafting me. Hopefully this bug gets fixed

I've been holding off on playing RTTS because of the draft to the Orioles issue as well as waiting on the rosters that were just recently completed. My brother got to free agency with his character and got offers from Texas, Colorado, and New York (Yankees). Ended up signing with New York for big money. So yes, free agency is in RTTS for the Show 19.
