The Braves are absolute trash in 2026. I’ve gotten on base 51 times in 31 games and have scored a total of 7 runs for myself, 5 of those coming from my own home runs. I may not crack 50 runs scored if I don’t go on a HR tear despite hitting in the .310’s with an OBP in the .380’s

Does anybody try to replicate rtts in franchise mode with player lock?Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I’ve done it in years past. I may end up doing it again since the team I’m on, Oakland, in the first season has already traded, Semien, Barreto, and Mateo. Getting rid of their current and future middle infielders. This game’s logic is so terrible at times.

Is there a way to increase hit variety for my outfielder on defense? It’s nothing but fly balls and home runs. There hasn’t been one ground ball through the infield in 100 games.
Edit: Never mind, I noticed that it was on “some” not “all” plays. Started getting a few ground balls.

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
does anyone know how long it takes to get the 4th or 5th pitch slot? im just starting my SP and was curious how long it would take before i could add more pitches.
I started with a 4seam, 12-6 curve and a cutter , quickly realized i needed a change or sinkerComment

You need to scroll on the page with the training options. The extra pitches are hidden until you scroll down⎛⎝DAWGS⎠⎞Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Bought the game a few days ago and I've been playing RTTS pretty much nonstop when I'm at home. So much fun with the RPG elements they've added. I created an anomaly CF, drafted in round 15 by the Angels, then they traded me and a pitching prospect to the Royals for Mondesi on the last day of July.
With a month left down in AA he's batting about .330 with 20 HR and 18 steals. Also 41 doubles, because I started on dynamic difficulty at beginner and for some reason only had gap power. Since I've gotten up to all-star, which is what I locked in at, my guy is probably batting like .280-.290. Which is reasonable for a top prospect in AA, I think.
Only gripe I have is that playing OF still sucks. I had fielding set to "some", but all I ever got was the typical flyouts/bombs. No chances to throw anyone out. Do you get more atypical fielding chances if your ratings are high?

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
From thread about patch 1.16
Fixed two Road to the Show freezes that could occur during manager interactions.
Fixed an issue in Road to the Show that was preventing a Closing Pitcher (at the MLB level) from adding a new pitch.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Unless they've changed it with a patch since the last time I played, no. I carried my CF over from the last few games so he's 99 overall in fielding and I mostly face flyouts and bombs in the outfield, while it rarely happens naturally, usually the only time I get an opportunity to throw someone out is if I miss the catch. Which I like playing outfield, sometimes I like it more than hitting but the lack of actual opportunties to play outfield beyond catching a pop up fly ball or running for a homer that you know you aren't getting sucks.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Made a starting pitcher.
Got drafted by the White Sox. Took awhile to be called up. In my first (mostly) full year with them I went 8-11 with a modest 3.95 ERA.
Got traded to Baltimore and played mostly a full season until they they moved me to the pen. I was mostly used as a long relief guy. Had a good season until they sent me down unexpectedly. I did not have a good month in AAA.
Got traded in the off season the the Reds.
I’m still stuck in the pen.
Kinda stinks I’ve been on terrible teams. My agent just called and I demanded a trade in hopes of getting on a better team.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Started my RTTS for this year over a while ago with some updates to include the rookies from this year. I still play my 18' RTTS as I'm not a fan of generic players replacing real players that are excluded from the roster when you carry over.
Just like last year this year's RTTS has grown on me. Trying to draw walks in AA is still tough and I'm not hitting for ridiculous power like last year, but I've been drawn in with this year's version. It's too bad I was drafted by the Orioles again.
Managed to get myself benched for refusing to move to 1B. Now if I can only get myself relegated to DH that'd be perfect.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I got the game a month ago and have been playing RTTS nonstop. I have started two different players so far, a center fielder and a catcher. I love the hitting, but playing center field was okay, too many routine plays though. Throwing out base stealers as catcher is fun, and fielding bunts is cool too. The bunts seem to happen a little too frequently and happen in completely absurd scenarios at times. They have pitchers bunt regularly, but I have seen several great hitters bunt (Joey Votto and Juan Soto, others too), which is dumb to begin with, and they have done it with no one on base. It is a bit much for me and I may make an infielder and play that instead. Probably third base or shortstop. I am thinking third base may have the same problem with bunts. I know I can turn off defensive plays, but I like playing all aspects of the game. I fully plan to keep playing the game, but this issue is kind of annoying, though funny.Comment
