Between a 60-day DL stint 5 out of 6 seasons(85 DUR right now) and the terrible spring training premise we have, it’s hard to not get frustrated in this mode.Twitter

Not sure what you are doing dude....but I haven't been to the DL at all. Sounds like you need to turn injuries off or adjust sliders.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
So I have 3 different SPs from various iterations that I'm going to import from 18-one was created in 18,one in 17 and one in 16(I think-it was when the servers were so bad they gave us a whole bunch of stubs for free).
Anyways I was going to finish out the season (they are all in September) plus start a new SP in 19.
This time I want to download a roster instead of using the game's.Any recommendations? How about timing?Any time during off season?Comment

Spring training is the worst. Can’t move game to game and have to go back to the clubhouse each game. The endless pitching changes. The awful ballpark.
I hate spring training in RTTS.Twitter

I just wish they were patch the pitcher as DH issue because I just can’t play RTTS that way. It’s always been my favorite mode but that’s a big problem. Once that finally gets patched I’m going to start a new RTTS.Currently Playing

Can the unlockable equipment make your player have ratings above the cap? Like if you equip a bat with PWR +8 and you’re a 92 with a 95 cap, does the bat only get you to your cap of 95?Twitter

They do make your rating go above their caps, but the effects only apply in-game.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
So quick question, folks.
I've just finished my third RTTS season (still with Baltimore, although they've traded everyone else with a pulse - one season in the minors, two in MLB).
So far, I've never once been offered the opportunity to raise my cap for 'Reaction' or 'Speed'. Both attributes have been maxed out for a season and a half now.
Is this by design? I can raise my power through doing weights, contact/plate vision/fielding etc. through practice, but for speed & reaction, I'm stuck with my God-given attributes?
Or have I just been really, really unlucky?Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Curious to know what archetypes people are enjoying using? When I start up I am torn between what I want to do.
Before archetypes were introduced I always made a guy with speed and then after a season or 2 developed his power to be able to be a HR hitter. I absolutely hate not being able to beat a throw to 1st from a shortstop throwing off his backfoot, so I feel like the power archetypes are a no for me. But I also want to be able to hit HRs and not just small ball all my career, so I'm not sure how well small ball fits for me.
Anomaly seems like the obvious choice, but I read someone saying they felt like the power started just a bit too low (constantly hitting warning track shots, never over the wall) and the speed is just a little low so it doesn't make the tradeoff feel worthwhile. I'm also concerned with starting at 25 contact it would take forever to grind that up to something respectable.
So if that is out I feel like I would be stuck with either going small ball and hoping that I can dev that power up throughout my players career (though I feel like it would take much longer than what I would like it to). Anybody have any experience training up power for a smallball guy? Or perhaps I could go utility or rock steady and just try to train speed every chance I get.
Any suggestions/thoughts/experiences shared are appreciated.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I posted a few weeks ago with a question and got a good reply so I have another question. I'm in my 4th season and will face arbiration at the end of the season, what kind of contract should I be looking at? Will it just be a one year and the only thing to decide is how much? I recently got traded to the Indians after about a year and a half of trying and currently get 1.8m a year. I'm not at elite level yet but I wouldn't say I'm too far off it.
Also after 3 years of arbiration when you become a free agent do you get much say in what teams will offer you deals etc. Do they all offer you or is it based on how good you are. Thank you.Comment

So Utility Man became my "Go To". With speed equipment boost and a bit of time, I ended up with 83-87 speed which is perfect. You get contact, good defense and decent arm strength to start and speed can be added.
There's also a bonus with that odd archetype for a CF... My 2nd position became 2B when they tried me somewhere else, which is also a fun place to play if I ever intend to change position later on. Also that archetype isn't made to become DH which I don't like, so another plus!
