Will the game download prior to the 26th release date so that we can play it after midnight and won’t have to wait for a long download time. Just curious how it works.

That's how it worked last year. I am waiting till the 26th and just buying a hard copy of the game myself this year.

It will just have a lock symbol where the disc symbol normally is until it is released

A friend of mine said it pre-downloads on 3/24

It is usually added the Sunday prior to release that you can pre-load it. Also, if you have auto-download turned on, it will auto download and install any day 1 patches that are released for it when it is added to PSN.

The auto download never seems to work for me I always have to log in and start it manually (and yes my ps4 is set to rest mode) seems I have to always have the PS4 on and still it won't load unless I start it.

anyway I think it;s midnight on the 24th.

Yeah, if you pre-ordered you got it on Friday last year.

Mine says it will be available to pre-load on the 23rd this year.

Does that mean you can play on the 24th? or it just downloads so not everyone in doing it at the same time on launch day and then unlocks on the 26th to play?

I assume that's it's just like every previous year. The preload will just give you the equivalent of what is on the disc. When you start it up, you get to play a play now game while the rest of the game downloads and installs in the background. They really need to get rid of that for digital users. It's so completely bass ackwards and a waste of time for us.

Mind you, they need to get rid of physical media completely. It's a dead medium.

They won’t get rid of physical media it will never sell digital In Australia not when digital is $100 day 1 for a game, and physical copies can be sold for $69 to $80. Rip off the digital store is!

Also no you can’t play play now more everything is locked till 26th all it does is download the game a clock countdown comes of ok sxreen telling you when you can play it.
