Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
This post goes out to Stealyerface and others who gave me feedback and told me to hang in there with this game. After much whining and quite a few temper tantrums, I have finally solved the riddle of the sphinx! Put the game down for about two weeks (as I looked at the cover gathering dust with a very depressed feeling each time) and couldn't believe I wasn't playing my all-time favorite game. Played guitar extensively, but as I watched real MLB games-I kept thinking "I wonder how my Yankees franchise would be doing?" Especially, without all the damn injuries they have now! Put the game back in-started on Veteran (!!?) and within about 40 minutes I finally gathered my sea legs!!!! Now I am very close to going back up to Hall of Fame. Now that Ive solved the riddle, I can firmly say this is the best rendition yet! I've been losing-getting much higher pitch counts (on my end), homers feel a lot more 'special' and the score variation is what I have been looking for for several years! Thanks for all of those who had to endure my hissy fits! Now I need to figure out how to manage all the talent on my roster. Does anyone have a good model for Clint Frazier? Game on baby!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
I'm amazed how this game has not progressed in giving the user feedback. I'm playing a franchise and playerlocking the AA and AAA games. When you player lock, you will never get feedback on a play that ends an at bat, be it a strikeout, hit, or out on a ball in play. The game will not tell you where you swung or how you timed it. It gives the impression that the people developing this game do not think things through when they add these quick play features. Just because I am using a quickplay feature doesn't mean I don't want feedback on what I'm doing. Was the out an RNG out or did I miss that ball?
I'll add to this a legacy issue. The third out never gives feedback. Maybe I remember incorrectly, but I thought it used to show the either at the next user at bat or maybe the start of the next half inning. Regardless, the third out is a complete mystery in this version. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
One of the beauties of this game.
Facing Chris Archer in the 6th inning. All game long he has used fastball and slider combo to keep us off balance. We have 2 on with 2 outs and Jon Singleton is working him over. A 10 pitch at-bat where Singleton is fouling off back foot sliders, hit a fastball twice into the seats but foul. So after 10 pitches of this at-bat, with 2 on, 2 outs and a 3-2 count, Chris Archer throws a change-up that has me so far out in front, that I could've probably pulled the bat back and swung again. His first change-up thrown in the game, is in a high leverage situation, his 11th pitch of an at-bat, and his 82nd pitch of the game.
I was so pissed at striking out in that situation, but at the same time had to tip my cap to the AI for the pitch.
This game is so damn good this year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Just very frustrated about some other things. But not surprised.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
The gameplay is virtually perfect. To me legend everything and pitch speeds maxed is an adrenaline rush in itself.
I have to have laser focus when facing a great pitcher. Tyler Glasnow was virtually unhittable the three times I faced him. Only once was I able to put three or more runs on him. And that was because of errors and a wild pitch and a few key hits. One being a broken bat single. (I was the Yankees)
Make no mistake this game is baseball to a T.

Of all the things they did to Fenway (Pesky Pole, Cora), they have yet to make balls hitting off the monster sound true..sounds like tennis balls hitting off that thing..Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
This is one of the things I love about this year's game. In the video Ozzie Albies hits a deep shot that bounces off the wall for what would be a double. But Nick Martini misplays the ball off the wall thus allowing Albies to get to third for a triple. If you watch Albies you can see that I initially had him stopping at 2nd, but when I saw Martini misplay the ball, I quickly told him to advance to third.
It's things, little things, like this that make this game so damn good.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
One minor thing that drives me nuts, when Heidi is talking about whichever team is at bat they show a player swinging in the on deck circle, and it’s never the player that’s due to lead off that inning.

Yea I've noticed this lol. Also if you play live rosters. Announcers apparently think every team is on a historic run.
Said the Rays were gonna break their all time winning streak. Even though they lost the day before [emoji1787]

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
I started March to October last night as the Brewers and it was a fun, great game.
Two issues that took away from the realism though.
1) Mike Mikolas was left in to throw 128 pitches, on opening day, in a 2-2 game.
2) Why are CPU hitters sometimes early on heaters? I got Hader throwing 97 and some guys are EARLY?! Makes no sense.
