Has anybody seen an in game injury ? That was a big issue with MLB 18 last year.

Re: Question for manage mode users
Hey all, I'm thinking of jumping in and buying this game this year. I would be only a manager mode player. I was wondering: How do your stats look at the end of the season - i.e. is this a realistic simulation? Second, how is the opposing manager AI? Does the AI make sensible in-game decisions?
I play OOTP, but I just watched a Youtube video that showed the dugout camera in Manager Mode and now I'm intrigued. Thanks!Comment

I can't compare to OOTP because I've never played that. Graphics obviously on the field are far superior in the show. You might want to also try press box view in manage mode.
I've seen a few complaints about opposing manager AI but for me it is pretty good and I play with DH off so there are more managerial moves. If you set the game to fast play and turn the countdown clock to zero you can play a game in an hour or less. Fast play turns cut scenes between pitches off and if you set countdown clock to zero you need to be quick on the pause button when you want to make a move.
Just my opinion. Others I'm sure have their own opinions. You might want to try 18 first if you can find a cheap copy somewhere.Last edited by tessl; 03-28-2019, 06:38 PM.≡Comment

Dugout view is the only camera I use for MoM. The immersion is just AWESOME in my opinion. My biggest complaint about MoM is the CPU AI will make some bonehead decisions on pitchers at times. They will leave relievers in to long, but for the most it isn't bad to me. Stats are ok, they aren't spot on, but it is a video game after all. They will never perfectly match Live MLB. THey stay in line in my opinion enough to still be realistic.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Re: Question for manage mode users
Nobody has a problem that between every pitch the menu screen takes up half the entire screen? Or is their a way to get rid of that?Comment

Re: Question for manage mode users
I do like last years between pitch interface better and I agree it takes up too much room on the screen. After about 2 inning I got used to it thoughComment

That is the redesigned interface to both streamline the mode and make it more user friendly. Sorry that you do not like it....hopefully you get used to it.Comment

And I almost love the press box cam, but it frustrates me that it cuts off the entire sky line, and you can't see "up" at all.
I guess I wish we had more camera options for those.
As it is, I end up sticking with broadcast. hahah.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Question for manage mode users
Make the menu hidden like it was before and accessible by pausing the game - or by turning the countdown clock to zero and putting the game on fast play. I disagree it is more user friendly to have a menu blocking the view of the field.≡Comment

Re: Question for manage mode users
The beauty of manage mode is I watch the game and can intervene and manage when I want to by simply pausing a game. IRL the manager doesn't have a menu in front of him.

Re: Question for manage mode users
1. Are you planning on patching in the fact that no one on a Spring Training Game gets subbed out.
2. Last year there were 0 in game injuries on this mode
3. Last year there were 0 Rain Delays on this mode
Would really appreciate your response. Love this mode. Played it like this for 10 years now. Fix those issues and we are goldenComment

Re: Question for manage mode users
I haven't purchased 19 yet and unless/until someone tells me there is a way to get rid of the menu I'll pass and continue with 18. This is a reversion to something the entire mom community successfully convinced the devs to get rid of.≡Comment

Re: Question for manage mode users
Former MoM player here who got into RTTS last year and will likely be exclusively playing with my RTTS player(s) this year with carry over saves. But I am going to have to spawn a test Franchise and try out a MoM game to see this new menu some folks are referring to here to see how annoying it is.
Other than that, I am happy with the fielding changes in MLB 19 and the overall Broadcast presentation of MLB 19 is definitely an improvement as long as you don't mind your games running a little longer than previous years. SDS does it every year. They don't make radical changes to the game each year. They just tweak something here and tweak something there. But if someone was to come from MLB 17 directly into MLB 19, they would see some nice improvements to how the game plays.Comment
