Don't you have to tell your pitcher to throw over to first and your runners to steal, or will they do it on their own? I know you have to change pitcher yourself and call for pinch hitter yourself, but is there anything else you absolutely have to do? Thank you

No - you have to tell them to throw over or steal. You can have the batter sacrifice bunt, bunt for a hit, take a pitch, hit and run if with a runner on base and pinch hit. You can set the defensive alignment to auto which is the best way to play but can also change it if you want. Runners can be told to steal. You can warm up pitchers in the bullpen and do mound visits to give the bullpen more time to get ready and - maybe - to increase the pitcher's confidence which has a small impact on performance but if you do the mound visit at the wrong time you can decrease confidence.

You can also do double switch and switch positions on defense. Just about everything you can do IRL you can do in manage mode. They don't spend a lot of time on it each year but it has evolved greatly over the years into a fantastic mode with the caveat I haven't played 19 but 18 was the best ever and I don't doubt 19 is also great.

If you have been playing OOTP you should like the show manage mode for the improved graphics although the franchise depth probably isn't as deep as OOTP.

Other than that, I am happy with the fielding changes in MLB 19 and the overall Broadcast presentation of MLB 19 is definitely an improvement as long as you don't mind your games running a little longer than previous years. SDS does it every year. They don't make radical changes to the game each year. They just tweak something here and tweak something there. But if someone was to come from MLB 17 directly into MLB 19, they would see some nice improvements to how the game plays.
Please do because I haven't figured out what they are talking about. There was already a sidebar on the right side of the screen showing upcoming batters and another bar in the lower left showing pitch count/stamina/confidence but it was only on the screen for a brief time if you had the game on fast play with countdown clock set to zero. It was perfectly fine. If this is just an upgraded version of that then it might be an improvement.

I remember the old version where you had no option to get rid of the countdown clock. I won't return to those days.

It's really no different than previous years except:

          1) It's rather big and could become an eye sore.
          2) It offers info that was not available in previous years.

Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Thanks for the reply. If it only stays on the screen for a couple seconds like the previous one then it won't bother me. Interesting that you left manage mode for rtts. That's quite a change.

I only play MOM. I'm in Spring Training, and the CPU subs out guys all the time. Are you saying you don't see them subbing out?

No not 1 sub. What are your settings?. In 4 games I have not seen 1 pinch hitter or defensive sub in spring training. Are you using 30 team control?. Even country boy isnt getting subs and he plays on regular mode.

Not sure if this would solve the problem but I always turn off DH in my franchise. You tend to get a lot more bench and bullpen usage without the DH.

Game 2 in the books and I'm getting used to the new screen that pops up! Lot of info to be had in MoM this year. 0-2 to start with the Rays

MoM is a good gaming mode. It's not that I left MoM because I did not like MoM games. No I just found RTTS more engaging. But I am not your typical RTTS player who plays only their batting and fielding appearances. I play full RTTS games when I can where every player bats, not just me. Where every player fields, not just me, etc, etc. Of course I am at the mercy of the virtual manager as to when I get to start games or when I get pulled. So it has it's flaws. If MoM was allowed in "Play Now" exhibition games, I would like to play more MoM games. I just can't commit to a Franchise. It's too much. I want to play Baseball games. I don't care who's contract needs to be renewed and all that other stuff.

I understand. I do remember you from previous manage mode threads. I just don't care to "joystick" the game. In MOM you can set the controller down and pick it up when you want to intervene.

I've dabble with the other modes but just not my cup of tea. I used DD once just to create my own logo and team - it's a shame they can't find a way to include that in franchise.

I love it. I love the info on it and the energy and confidence. Would love if player lineup/rotation screen in home page had it so you could see it in and out of games. But I love the new interface

Quick observation after a couple game. Im in love!! Out of the park this year SDS! It is blowing my mind, the graphics, the gameplay, even the AI managing has improved. If injuries and delays are in the game (Have not seen either yet) then this is 100 % awesome!

EDIT: even if no rain delays, I'd be ok with that, but injuries is a MUST. The cpu has injuries throughout the season, so it would make for a true managing decision.

I imported my Braves franchise from 18 (which was imported from 17) and have been using NOMO's sliders from that. I'm only about 7 games in but so far it seems pretty close. In terms of statistical accuracy I have played EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. since I started the franchise and the stats have been as close as I could hope for.
