Did y'all MoM users notice you can't see of change the opponents uniform before starting a game?

I didn't notice because the opponents uniforms are ALMOST the lowest thing in the entire game I care about LOL Almost lower then a mascot :-)

As for pitch aggressive - I did that and a pitchers hit a double on me on a 3-1 count! LOL

While bunts are now going to the 3rd baseman, bunts are still resulting 100% of the time in throw outs at 2B. I've tried having the runner steal with the bunt but then my pitcher (a 94 bunt rating) pulls the bat back on a pitch down the middle and the runner got thrown out at 2B. I expected a popout into a DP, but the result was the same. Pitcher struck out, no runners on base.

I'm probably going to create a new franchise and make the NL a DH league because pitchers are 100% incompetent at the plate with runners on base.

MLB is going to make the NL a DH league either next year or the following anyway.

I have a question about pitcher option. Has anyone ever gotten a strike from a pitcher when you tell the to pitch aggressive?



To me, the option doesn't work. Didn't work last version or the version before. Seems like it makes them pitch around.



Even with a pitcher who has excellent control facing a pitcher who can't hit. 3-0 or 3-1 count on that pitcher, tell my pitcher to pitch aggressive...ball 4. I have never seen a strike from the option.

I never call pitches. I let the pitcher and catchers to the job. Get great results. Just the way I play.

I just get frustrated when my pitchers keep mowing thru the 1-6 batters but then with the 7-9 batters they start pitching like Babe Ruth is hitting, especially against pitchers. I can't tell you how often my pitchers get to 3-1 and 3-2 counts against pitchers, basically running up pitch counts for nothing. It's against pitchers I try to tell my pitchers to just throw it over the darn plate.

Mine do that as well, from my so called "Ace" (massive eye roll) to the festering pile holding down the 5th spot. I just love giving up hits and walks to the opposing pitcher. Grr. And my bullpen..... Argh.

I have no issues bunting - seem pretty realistic to me. Pitching is fine for the most part. Pitchers GETTING hits is weird though.

I was wondering about ball park effects but playing in KC I had a LOT of warning track outs the last game.

Rain is just cosmetic from what I can tell.

He said he isn't a gameplay dev. Apparently he works on more cosmetic stuff like menus.

I'd bet lunch at my favorite pool hall they didn't fix it but who knows - could be pleasantly surprised.

Rain is more than cosmetic. The devs have verified weather impacts gameplay.

Ah, thanks tessl. Well if they haven't, then I'll just manage a rotation and sim a rotation etc. I got to have injuries. That's the only important thing missing from what I can tell. Game plays great otherwise

What I don't understand is how code that isn't broken gets changed and this is a perfect example. There used to be relatively realistic injures in manage mode.

I wonder if something intended for play now or DD or rtts somehow crept into manage mode.

As a long time serious baseball sim hobbyist, this thread has gotten me closer to taking the dive and buying MLB The Show and giving Manager Mode a spin. As I'm sure you know, many Diamond Mind and OOTP players look at The Show as merely an arcade game, which lacks the realism and competent AI that is required for a serious sim. As a former skeptic, this thread is opening my mind to this game. If this truly is a realistic sim of baseball, with good CPU AI, then the incredible graphics will make The Show a must buy.

The injury thing is concerning, however. It sounds like this needs to be addressed pronto.

Have you all found the development team responsive to your (our) niche of manager mode players? If the developers showed some interest and attention, there is an untapped market our there that would start paying attention, I'm sure.

I'd like to know what's in your game that isn't in mine. All bunts are hit too hard hence the force outs. Quite honestly, there is no difference in players with 90+ bunt ratings and those with ratings below 40.

Bunting is no longer an option for me. I've given them plenty of time to work out.
