Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
I tried that. Didn't really do much. Notice it alot at Citifield. It's just thought because 18 was so smooth so that's what makes it stand out even more. I don't know if its the faster pitch speeds or more movement the pitches have but it just seems choppy and has a kind of float to the pitches.Comment

I'm loving the feel of the gameplay. I hope we can get this framerate stuff sorted out though. Hard to ignore the fact that '18 was so smooth and with '19 I'm having issues with this.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Also, just for anyone that has chimed in on other threads and says things like it has to be my TV...I just want to rattle off some games I've played within the last year or so on my same set-up (PS4 Pro, 55 inch Sony X930E). Horizon:Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, NBA 2K19, MLB '18, WWE 2K19, Resident Evil 2, Devil may Cry, NHL '18. I'm sure I'm forgetting a handful, but the point I'm trying to make is....ALL OF THESE GAMES RUN SMOOTH AS BUTTER!
Sorry for the caps, just wanted to get my point across lol.
And this is in no way an attack on anyone or anything like that lol. We're all here because we love baseball, the Show, or both. We all want to have a great experience with this game. Let's try to figure this damn thing out so we can enjoy this awesome game, without the eyesore of poor performance/frame rate!Comment

You’re right! MLB has had this problem for years

Noticing it too.
It's nowhere near (for me) as some people report. It is very playable for me, but noticably worse compared to '18.
I play a lot on old Yankee stadium its noticable there.
Such a shame as i really was not expecting this, and it really should not be the case either as they sort of improved on it every year.
Also notice it whenever my batter takes a pitch, seems that it just skips a frame then.
Does not make sense and in 2019 we really should not have to deal with this.
But...it is what it is and i do not expect them to acknowledge let alone patch it.Comment

I believe they tried to patch it one year. I cant remember the year nor if it actually made a difference but they def tried. Just spoiled on how good it was last year.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Hey guys, just a heads up - a patch 1.04 just dropped and one of the things mentioned is "gameplay optimizations". When I saw that, I went back into MTO with the exact same setup as last night (Cubs-Rangers at Globe Life), and the frame rate drop right after contact was all but gone. It could be that there is different lighting being cast than there was in my game yesterday, or any other number of odd coincidences - or maybe the patch really did address the slowdowns.
Anyway, give it a try and see what you think. If this really is the solution, then obviously this is something they had worked on pre-launch and just weren't quite ready to ship it out the door on launch day, as no post launch feedback patch can possibly get certified that fast.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
I saw countryboy's post about a new patch, and now I'm reading your post bcruise...don't get my hopes up like that! Hahaha
Hopefully it is better after the patch, I'll test when I get home later.
The gameplay, in particular the fielding, definitely feels fresh. I hope these framerate hiccups can be fixed so we can all enjoy this game the same.Comment

Thanks BCruise!!! That definitely can be for the stuttering. Let's hope because I love the gameplay!!Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Just a few more details before I get some much-needed sleep:
I tried Balanced for a bit and it still seemed to struggle some with those post-contact camera cuts I was talking about. But Faster (which is 1080p and it's as high as I need to go with my monitor) definitely seems smoother on everything, even the dynamic fielding camera.
I'm definitely leaning towards this patch having done something to improve the frame rates now. All of those usual suspects - MMP, Rogers, and now Globe Life - are all running very smooth on Faster. Put it this way - if it was running last night like it is now, I wouldn't have even seen a need to come into this thread. Let me know what you think once you try it!Comment

Thanks buddy!! How is the pitcher/batter? Smooth? Notice some choppiness in some stadiums. Maybe they got it back to 18Comment

Sadly frame rate drops also after patch, Retro camera for fielding and hitting seems to help a little.Comment
