Pitchers as DH in franchise?? Why

A couple AL teams always put a pitcher in their DH spot and when I sim @ an AL team in my pirates franchise, despite my lineups being set otherwise, a starting pitcher is always the DH

Super annoying . Anyone else experience this?

It's probably an Ohtani bug. rather then have him in the game as a true switch hitter they have tried a dodgy approach of doing it and broken the game. with this random bug. that is my guess anyway

In my main RttS, the team my player is on - the RedSox - had a rash of injuries and now they have a starting pitcher as the DH for some reason...hitting 4th despite the fact that the pitcher can't hit for anything. Was very odd when I saw it.

I’ve seen this in RTTS as well, I figured it was because I imported an old roster but maybe not.

The best part is when Stephen Gonsalves comes to bat and it’s a boss challenge.

SDS adding something to franchise and it not working properly? Shocking news, at least they have a great track record of going back and fixing these things

Do you want the honest answer?.... it's because SDS implemented a broken feature into franchise. Since it is not an issue that effects diamond dynasty SDS simply does not care or have the motivation to look into it and fix it. The sad thing is it actually is near game breaking. I think everyone on this forum even the SDS apologists have accepted the fact that while the development staff does have passion to make a great game. The could give to splits about franchise mode. In fact I believe the thought of even working on franchise mode sends them into dry heaves lol

And let's not forgot shohei Ohtani can't even qualify for wins 90% of the time in franchise because he doesn't have the energy to get out of the 4th inning

The only way to get their attention is to tweet SDS directly. They do read them. I know because I was surprised to find Ramone had blocked me even though I’ve never even tweeted him. So there’s clearly no guarantee that tweeting them would work, just that they read them.

While I can fix it in franchise by switching to the other team and sub in an actual position player, there is nothing that can be done to fix it in RTTS. That is the only frustrating part. I’ve had to give up that mode until it’s fixed.

this is another reason the designated hitter is an abomination unto baseball lol the chickens come home to roost . I sure hope Shohei is an inspiration to a new generation of pitchers to strive to be more complete baseball players . if not , maybe in the future DH's can stand behind the mound and be the pitchers Designated Fielder too . OK , I'll get off my soapbox now lol

Franchise yes, rtts no. Franchise, switch to other team and sub an actual position player, then switch back to your team.
