That's not what is happening here. It has to be something else. Especially if others on the team are hitting HR's at a normal rate. Horrible slumps do happen in this game with single players (even with good morale), and i bet that's what this is. I experienced it with Beltre for a while one year. Even if morale did drop Judge's power enough to be noticed in one month, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as 1 HR in a month.

I would imagine many people are experiencing the same morale drop due to his salary. (Unless you are using a different roster than most.) Yet i imagine power seems fine with Judge for most people. But if this caused that big of a drop to power to Judge there would be a large amount of "Judge is horrible in this game" threads.

Seems like plecebo to me. You see 1 HR, and then see low morale, and thus conclude that is the only thing it could be....

This isn't a knock on your issue. I know its frustrating. I just think there is something else causing this besides morale.
You may be right about this. From what I'm reading the morale system nonetheless is affecting a lot of things.

Bottom line is, I am glad we have it. I enjoy having to work with it. But some things don’t make good common sense and are too black and white like the batting order determining star status.

It should be more dynamic and based on a cocktail of player production, All-Star appearances, awards etc. Team performance does solve a lot of “ratings hits’ and that is what is helping Judge in my franchise (I started with the 2017 OSFM version of Judge and he has progressed into a stud of course). I hit 66 HR’s with him in year 2 and now in year 3 through 25 games he has 6 HR’s, 21 RBI’s, leads the league in walks but also leads the league in K’s! So he is not off to the great start I had hoped. But we won the World Series, I have an A coach and I just fired my first base coach (C rated) and hired an A rated 1st base coach. He hits third in the lineup (or 4th) but before the game I flip him to the 2 slot where I like him and fool the linear star system.

So the hope is SDS will work on the player morale system because this is the closet thing we have to player personality and player issues we have in franchise mode.

What I really would like to see is the team taking the player relationships system they added into RTTS and implement it into franchise mode and expand the player personality/clubhouse storylines inside franchise mode. They also can take a lot of the cool dynamic presentation elements of March To October (which some is already in as I play more and more and get deeper into my season) and implement that into franchise as well.

There is a lot of potential with systems they already have in place. It just needs some focus for a cycle.

Anyway Player Morale has a lot of upside, we all agree it needs some work, but there are ways to have a lot of fun with it right now. It just takes some dancing. LOL.
Interesting...I did not know this was happening. Like others..I never really paid attention to morale until Judge had power outage. And yes others are hitting HRs. Voight has 13.

Yea the "book" seems to say these days bat your best overall hitter second.

That all depends on your roster as well as play style IMO.

But the hot trend is going that way it seems.

I like most aspects of the morale system. Sometime the contract issue can be annoying when you cant fix it until the end of a season or another season and such. The one that I dont like is the location aspect. Playing as Toronto and a player from the North East US should be atleast content, but its not registered that way and he is mad because its another Country. I could see if it was Texas or something, but the need to get the location of Toronto fixed, or change the close to home altogether, same as compatriots....I am not signing 4 players just so you are happy!

Thankfully it isn’t causing a ratings hit, but it annoys me that Bryce Harper is mad about the contract he gladly signed in real life.

Gotta love those guys from Michigan or New York with the requirements "Close to home" who are mad about playing in Toronto.

Maybe they are pissed about the taxes.

I wonder if Close to Home/Compatriot would be better served if it were more like a perk and only applied in a positive manner and did not come into play negatively.

That would certainly be easier. Not sure if it were to be better.

For example, "close to home" should be close to where they grew up. But it isn't. Just like the New York/Michigan example, it also works the other way. Canadians will be pissed about playing in Seattle. Like what? If they are from BC, they should be thrilled to play in Seattle. That is FAR closer than Toronto.

Disagree totally. I've seen lots in my 6 years of franchise (carried over, play most games) that show morale being of huge importance and especially the past two seasons.

Aaron Sanchez was making about 5 mil per, was asking for 15+ and Ace, was my #3. I had to leave him off of my playoff rotation (at 86 OVR) because his year's totals made him just about the worst pitcher in the AL. He got spot duty in my WS run out of the bullpen mopping up and still had an ERA over 6.

My current season ROY winning 1B started out high 70s and turned into last September's Rowdy Tellez when I brought him up when my team was struggling. Proceeded to go for over 1.000 OPS with 65/70 contact, 65/70 HR.

Bryce Harper had the best season ever recorded at 74 HR, 180 RBI because he was now Ecstatic the entire season instead of merely Happy last year.

What really grinds my gears on morale is the concurrent problems with rookie salaries when their minor league deal for 80k ports up when they're called up instead of getting the minimum 560. The effect on morale makes some of them unplayable.

This. Marcus Stroman hates Toronto in this game because it's not close enough to home when it's an hour flight to Newark, NJ, from Toronto and a half hour train ride to Times Square. Players from Ohio hate Toronto and it's about the same flight to Cinci and Cleveland. AAMOF, anyone that isn't Canadian hates playing in The Show's Toronto.... and BC guys love it even though it's closer to Seattle.

Show designers failed geography... but that's okay: most Americans do when it comes to Canada.

I actually enjoy geography, enough to know Denver Colorado is closer to Mexico than Canada. Math, on the other hand, makes my head hurt, enough to hate the Shows budget system double l o l
