You're right though, I hit one at Rogers center last night and the ball flight looked outstanding! I think it's fair for everyone to be a bit reserved when it comes to the patch-work in this game, as there have definitely been some bad ones over the years, but IMO, this one is the best yet.
I love how the consensus on this forum over the years has become, if you don't like something that a game has done and decide to voice your displeasure about it. This is automatically equated to the behavior of a 13 year old. Then you have the inevitable "best comment ever" guy who comes along immediately after. It's quite comical. We all have different opinions on how we like to play. We are all better off respecting each others opinions than putting each other down when we don't agree. If you think a patch "ruined" the game, say it. If you think the patch made the game "the best ever", say it.

You want to know why the shownation drives more change to this game than any of the other communities? Because they are the most vocal with their complaints and opinions. Just sitting back and not voicing your displeasure with something because you don't want to be perceived as that of a "13 year old" serves absolutely nobody.

Point taken, but which approach would be more helpful in a thread to get the point across?

First we'll go with option 1.
      1. I played five games with the new patch, and I feel that something has happened to the________________ (fill in the blank). I am seeing ________________ and especially when I try to _________________ it appears that there is now a problem with _____________. I made a video/screenshot/description/etc.. and hopefully that will help to get this new issue resolved.

      Now, let's try option 2.
      2. The new patch sucks, it ruined the game, and I refuse to play it anymore until you fix it. I played one game and struck out too many times. I didn't hit enough home runs. I got caught stealing. You ruined the game WAAAAAAAHAHHHHHHH! I quit.

So, for me, option 1 seems to be a better way to get a point across. I would never poke fun at, outright laugh at, or ignore someone who gave feedback, no matter how critical, in an attempt to make the game better. I have written the equivalent to War and Peace about how it is not acceptable for a game to be this far along in development, and have fielders morph through each other with no collision detection. World Series '98 had collisions, injuries, and brutal animations when guys ran into each other... uhh.. 21 years ago. We still get baserunner who slide into second base and pass through the fielder with no regard to the rules of spatial occupation.

But I explain my position, and attempt to glean some sort of information as to why it is still missing, and when we could potentially see them address this.

But starting an entire thread that states that one patch ruined the game, and that I quit...

C'mon man, don't defend some insolent juvenile tactics. Let's have a productive conversation, and work through the problem.

      That's how *^&% gets done.

Fair enough. You were responding to the OP and that actually makes sense

I'm 100% OK with you calling me out for a comment that you weren't happy with. It wasn't meant to offend.

To be fair, the "13 year old" part wasn't what I enjoyed. It was the "I then immediately went to the OS forum, and Started a big thread about how the new patch sucks, and the comeback code ruined the game, and I'm not playing it until they fix it.... oh wait, no I didn't..." part, because it's 100% true. If you're going to post here, and scream into the wind, but then all of the sudden disappear (like the OP did) when the boatload of helpful people around here start trying to help you, I see very little reason why it's wrong to call that person out.

I agree 100% with what @stealyerface is saying here-There's a very easy way to discuss issues that you're seeing, and if you do that, odds are someone will be able to help you.

No worries brother. I was more indicating that there is a small contingency on here that will jump down your throats at any criticism you levy towards SDS. I want the OS crowd to be more vocal with complaints because right now theshownation is the leading contingency when driving the direction of this game. And quite frankly the game they want is different from this game.

I have to admit. I have been guilty of what sfy was calling out in the post. When 1.09 dropped I was livid. I b****** and moaned all over this forum. It felt like 104 mph exit velo hits felt no different than 75 mph fly balls. The game felt so good at release and I felt like the show nation players pounded this games potebtial in the ground. Luckily a lot of them did not feel like 1.09 was a good change and complained as well. they released 1.10 which seemed to fix a lot of my issues. Albeit with solid hits at 4 as the line drives went from being nerfed to being on the extreme side.

If anyone here staunchly defends a studio/developer no matter what the situation and without being on their payroll, they’re an insane person haha

I think the issue people have, especially on this game’s forum, is the amount of posts that were previously relegated to the Madden/2K/FIFA boards. Baseball has always been “behind the times” and “America’s pastime” so to speak, so the reactionary and hyperbolic threads weren’t prevalent amongst the sea of users not in a rush or patient with their input.

Not to say this forum has never had those types, they just weren’t as vocal and apparent in years past.

We like our Leave it to Beaver world here, it’s comfortable and reliable. Just like baseball.
