    Going 'with' the pitch...

This may sound kind of stupid... But when I'm being pitched on the outer half of the plate, I want to go with the ball, not pull it. It seems as though regardless of what I do, there's always a pull element (even with players who are designated "whole field" hitters). Aside from swinging really late and hoping to make contact that will shoot the ball into right off a right handed pitcher, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.

I know you can use the right stick to select which way you want the ball to go when bunting... But even that would be of little help since I don't know it's an outer half pitch until the ball has left the pitchers hand.

    Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

I just wait an extra split second or so and let the ball get deeper in the zone. I only try to pull occasionally with guys who are extreme pull to jerk the ball out of the park.

Could you please explain, to a novice, the terms "pull hitter"??

It’s someone who usually hits the ball to the same side of the field that he bats from.

A push hitter is the opposite. They look to “go the other way” or slap the ball to the opposite field.

A left handed pull hitter will typically hit the ball to right field

            Ahh, thank you.
So watching Harper in his good years (lol) a lot of his HRs would blast into the right decks, so he was "pulling"??

If I try to wait that extra half second it goes foul... Or, I'll be out in front of the pitch and pull a ball that should've never been hit that way.

I was hoping there was a way to pull/push like with the bunts... Ah well. Ty

                  Directional hitting.

Have a guy at second base with no outs, and need to try and move him along to third with your right handed batter?

Push the L stick to the three o'clock position, and try and drive the ball in between first and second base.

Better yet, want to start the runner and want to stay out of a double play?

With your right handed batter, push the L stick to the 5o'clock position, and put the ball on the ground to the right side to get a fielder's choice, or even try and sneak one through the hole on the ground.

Directional Hitting is your new BFF baby!!
