I didn't even think about Tiger Stadium. Man, I spent many summer nights there watching games. That would be an amazing classic park for them to add to the game

To be perfectly honest, I never really paid any attention to the classic stadiums in the game before. I focused on franchise mode and rebuilding teams (including the Tigers the past couple years, yikes). I never even realized it wasn't in the game. But now..now I need it in game lol. I like Comerica Park, but would love to see Tiger Stadium again, even if only virtually.
Hell, give me expansion in the game with Tiger Stadium, and I know what stadium I'm using for my team.
So that gives me two things I really want for MLB The Show 20 now

Presentation Options - I wish there was a way when using Fast Play to still get a few extras. Specifically:

• HR celebrations, rounding the bases, stadium specific things (train in Hou, apple in NY, etc.) but no replay afterwards
• Post game celebrations, walking off the field, etc.

Basically, something in-between Fast Play and Hybrid. I don't want replays or throwing the ball back to the pitcher after the pitch, but do want some of the celebration aspects.

My main wishes are customization. I saw mentioned earlier about managers/coaches/umpires. That’s a great idea. I play Manage-Mode a lot and there’s times I wish I could edit the current manager or one of the managers available for hire since we are the ones actually managing the game.

Another thing is player defense and secondary positions. It doesn’t seem like there’d be an issue allowing us a check-box type of option for selecting secondary positions instead of only choosing from what they have set. As far as defense goes, I love that they implemented the penalties for secondary or just being out of position altogether. But I think they need to take it a step further and (this might be too much) add either a penalty rating or a familiarity rating(probably franchise only)for each players secondary positions. I’ll use Ronald Acuña as an example. he’s a LF who moved to CF for some time. If I keep him listed as a LF and just play him in game in CF he shouldn’t have the same penalty applied to his rating on the first game there that he does the tenth. Players learn positions and get accustomed to them. The more time a player plays a position I think the less penalty should occur. I also think this would create another layer realism in franchise.

Another thing that might be a step too far to make work is making pitchers ratings based off of their pitch repertoire. Velocity/movement/control are all fine. But I don’t feel like it tells the whole story.

Last thing here is making the rosters more player oriented and less positionally based. I understand it’s most likely needed for the AI logic currently in the game. But the main point I’ll make here is having a differentiation of SP/RP/CP. Anybody(mostly) can be anywhere at anytime and having those designated labels handcuffs the CPU teams. All of the pitchers can be thrown under one label and the AI can base decisions off of things such as stamina and clutch as to who should be starting games and in the bullpen/closing etc. Some guys bounce back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen a lot. Or will be a bullpen guy one year and start the next or vice versa.

I wouldn't mind her if she had like 50 more things to say so it wouldn't get SOOO repetitive.


Matter of fact the commentary is probably the weakest link of the whole game. We literally need 20 times as much commentary as we already have.

I'm never in favor of a feature being dumped after one year. That's an EA trick, throw something half baked in but dump it because they're too lazy to make it better. Given the chance to build on it and improve it, I'm confident SDS will be able to make it work.

I don't think there's ever been a sports game made in the history of video games that has had commentary that wasn't super repetitive. I'm sure it's a hardware limitation, at least I hope so.

My personal wishlist:

1) ability to change facial and regular hair on players. Not only is this incredibly frustrating as a Yankee fan, but just in general this changes so much. A fun part of baseball is ignored here.

2) more minor league levels, obviously. We don’t have to make them playable, but I think at least full AA/AA/A need to be options to fill out a roster.

3) incorporation of international markets. I would kill for a NPB league aspect so we can show interest in certain players that would affect whether they wanted to be posted or whether they stayed in Japan.

A Latin America scouting aspect would be awesome too. Like showcase games in-season that allow you to get more info and leverage to sign international free agents and prospects.

4) ability to edit both the windup and the stretch animations. They don’t always match for both. I think there should be two options there including a “only pitches from the stretch” option as well.

5) redo morale, especially in relation to salary and role. RP’s furious they aren’t closers, rookies upset about salary, that’s just ridiculous. Also, a screen that lets me choose whether CC Sabathia (WHO LOVES NEW YORK) wants to be close to his birth state.

6) ability to assign “top prospect” status at the beginning of the year to give some minor leaguers more trade value. Just a “you must pick your top 5 prospects” thing would be really awesome.

7) more commentators. They don’t have to be former players, even just voice actors, but having like 4-5 booths that you spread out across leagues and regions would really just improve on things feeling repetitive. Even the same thing said in a different voice would go a long ways there. Maybe one athlete per booth or something?

8) ability to injure players manually and still have 30 team control would be amazing. I hate having to choose between the two. I want to be able to import my prospects but also not have players furious for being in Single-A because they don’t realize they had Tommy John surgery in real life.

9) two way players, because duh.

10) utility position as an option, and the ability to select positions for their secondary. This is long, long overdue.

11) make former players available to be coaches after they retire.

Would also like to be able to make a player play multiple positions. I know that some already do.. But to be able to allow them to play all INF and all three OF spots. As it is right now they have a primary position .. a few select other positions.
Tommy Edman for St louis as an example ... primary position is 3b .. and can also play 2b/SS.
in Actual baseball .. he can play 2b/3b/SS and all three Of Spots. But I cannot change that in the Show. I want to see a selection as simple as Inf/Of. If that makes any sense.

I skipped MLB The Show 19 due to lack of Franchise improvements so I'm hoping that some of these get in next year with the rest when we reach the new consoles.

Franchise:

Sim A Win: Madden has had this for a while, NBA2K20 is now allowing to choose winners when you simulate during MyLeague/MyGM. This will allow us to play along with the real season.

MLB Expansion/Relocation: This might not be until PS5/Xbox 2 but needs to be added for sure. Rob Manfred has said that he wants to expand the amount of teams to 32, even named cities in the process. Would like to see this added as Portland is building a stadium to lure a MLB team or get one via expansion and Rays splitting their time between Canada and Florida.

Expansion/Relocation 2, Stadium Maintenance: Similar to Madden, you have to maintain your stadium and keep it above a certain score. If it is low enough, you'll have the option to build a new stadium or relocate to a new city. Once the score was low enough, I'd like to see cities contacting you or you being able to start talking to other cities about relocating. This would of course affect attendance, fan support, etc. If your the Rays and Montreal contacts you and say we'll build you a new stadium if you relocate. Nashville, Portland, they will contact you about relocating, etc.

All Star Game: In NBA 2K, you can select the host city of the All Star Game every offseason. Would like to see this done here as well. Also you can choose who makes the All Star Game manually if you don't like how it was generated. Again, this allows you to keep up real time and choose the actual all star teams.

Conference Realignment: Want to place the Astros back in the NL and The Brewers back in the AL? Want to have fun and create fun divisions? Go ahead! This of course would be done in the offseason before the new season.

1) Online Franchise with improved scouting and rotating schedules

2) Online playoff mode - Play each round of the playoffs with friends to determine a WS Champion

3) Robust user profile stats with a trophy room that other users can view

4) Make online rated games matter more by giving out DD rewards, ability to wager stubs and/or cards. Also track history with records & stats with any online rated teams used.
