    CPU late inning rallies/HRs

I don’t know if it’s one of the latest patches or what. But it seems like lately, (nearly 3 weeks now), in almost every single game the CPU either gets a late inning HR or a big inning. No matter the team, pitcher, pitcher fatigue or confidence. Even in my All Star game with a fresh all star. First pitch.

    This can’t be a coincidence.

    Has anyone else had this?

      It’s a coincidence

They did not secretly add comeback AI or CPU late inning rallies in the latest patch

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I’m not saying you’re wrong. But it’s very hard to believe. I wish you could see my games. It’s gotten where I can call it before it happens. I mean every single game.

if you want to see proof nothing was patched in regarding big CPU rallies, drop down difficulty levels. those rallies will disappear faster than a baseball fan in Florida when spring training ends

But my difficulty is already set to dynamic. Which means it’s adjusting on its own. I’m not playing on some super hard level that I shouldn’t be on.

yeah, dynamic is the way to go IMO, I get the cpu making its share of comebacks on me and if I wanted them eliminated I'd drop down to rookie level.

I wouldn’t want it eliminated. Sometimes that happens in baseball. I like realism. But I kid you not..... it’s been every single game for a while now. Always set on dynamic. I don’t know what’s going on.

I thought the same thing once because for a while I was experiencing the same thing. But I realized that I just had to get better at pitching to keep it from happening.

This was happening to me for a couple of weeks at one point. Changed my closer, re-adjusted my late inning pitchers and eliminated it.

It doesn't always immediately pop up as a cold streak, but relievers are pretty volatile in real life, and it's the same in the game.

                    Best examples:

                    Ken Giles 2018: 4.65 ERA
                    Ken Giles 2019: 1.45 ERA

                    Liam Hendriks 2018: 4.13 ERA
                    Liam Hendriks 2019: 1.24 ERA

                    vs.

                    Blake Treinen 2018: 1.34 ERA
                    Blake Treinen 2019: 4.42 ERA

Obviously a bit cherry picked, but the just of it is that late inning guys can go from 0 to 100 in a heartbeat, or vice-versa. Try switching it up a bit.

I was a firm believer of the Comeback code until I saw a post either on here or Reddit about it.

Someone had mentioned that home teams are usually likely to have a possible rally. Whether it’s the CPU or the User. Seems to hold true.

When I’m trailing at home, usually some weird or lucky crap happens in one inning and I get a chance to Tie or take the lead.

                      That’s just baseball I guess

                        OP:

You say you're on Dynamic Difficulty which is fine, but what difficulty does the Dynamic setting actually have you playing on?

You can check this by pausing, going to options/gameplay/ general tab and setting Dynamic Difficulty Notifications to "Progress". It will show your current difficulty level at the start of every at-bat in the scorebug (top left). Obviously that might be a little invasive, so there are other options for showing progress that don't show up so frequently (and I'm guessing you're set to one of those).

Take note of what that setting is, and maybe try playing a game or two with a static difficulty lower than what it's showing you. It sounds to me like maybe you've bumped up a level or two in Dynamic and aren't aware of it.

I was starting to think that while going thru the thread. Although dynamic is a good concept, maybe dynamic is exactly the problem for me.

These late HRs may be just after a bump that I’m not aware of during each game.

I used dynamic to find my skill level, then locked it in. Veteran hitting+HOF pitching. A&S's sliders.

If you find the sweet spot, this game is terrific my friend.

yes sir, exactly. I really believe its a fine line most people straddle when deciding if the Show is ''terrific'' or ''terrible''. if you find the sweet spot with sliders, difficulty level and personal skill level, you'll swear this is the best damn sports video game ever. some people are even lucky that the default slides are a perfect match for them and realise that quicker. I started playing the Show in earnest in 09 (though I dabbled in it previously) but it took 3 years for me to come around to knowing just how much potential the game had to offer. on the terrible hand, I can see how some people get upset with the game and I'm fairly confident most times its because they've never been fortunate to find that sweet spot. Like I said earlier, I could eliminate all comebacks if I wanted but that would be as bad as every other game having a big rally. count me among the fortunate to have a realistic amount of comebacks in my playing.
