    Contact power rating

So guys I have a question I finally figure the hitting but I feel there still something missing. If a player has a high contact rating higher then 70 should I am with circle ? Same goes as a higher power rating should I use square ? Or should I always use x for normal. I’m using zone. I increase the sliders by two for human contact power contact and timing was that ok too? I also use the guess location because I am not good at reading the ball. So what I do is if I guess the location right I see if it’s a ball or not and then I swing.

    Re: Contact power rating

All depends on the pitch and location and where you want to put the ball. Best advice I can give you is, take lots of BP.

      Re: Contact power rating

if anyone out there has an answer, I have a question about Contact & Power ratings:

IF average for Contact at the MLB level is 65 & average for Power at the MLB level is 50,

what is average for Contact at AAA, AA & Single A & what is average for Power at AAA, AA & Single A?

I know that's a lot but any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

65 contact and 50 power is considered the average rating? So a 65 contact rating equates to a .252 batting average based on 2019 league average or close to it based on a three year weighted average? I remember reading somewhere where a triple AAA player loses like 18% of his ability when reaching majors. So a 65 rating x .082 would/should be a 53 contact rating.

thanks. and I kind of feel like 35 is around average for Contact at Single A ... so maybe 44 is average at the AA level for Contact. maybe.

I always swing with X as that adds the players contact/power ratings into the equation.

When you use O you are given a slight boost (bigger PCI) to contact rating but your power rating takes a hit.

When you use Square (power swing) you are given a slight boost to your power rating but your contact rating takes a hit.

            Now when using guess pitch/location:

Guess pitch correctly = boost in contact rating

Guess location correctly = boost in power rating

Guess pitch incorrectly = decline in contact rating

Guess location incorrectly = decline in power rating

At least that is my understanding on the guess pitch.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Question for clarity; if the scouting system has “Average” at 50 and Above Average at 60, how is this different than what you are saying, where the league average is 65. Do you mean the league mean?

I guess I’m asking where you got those numbers from?

I completely forgot that they use the traditional 20-80 scale in this game. I need more coffee....

Still curious how you figured out the average rating for the MLB though

I dont know for certain that 65 is average at the mlb level for contact but I thought that was where it was. And I was also speaking of the 0-99 Show scale and not the MLB 20-80 scale. I'm also not positive on 50 as average for power but thats also what I remember it being said to have been supposed to be at. Still not sure but I feel like 50 and 65 are really close as averages
