Zone hitting - approach
What’s your approach in a general at bat using Zone? Do you use Guess Pitch? Sit on a location? A pitch type?

I use nothing. I used to use Guess Pitch back in MLB 13. Now, I keep my reticle in the center and just follow the ball with my peripheral vision. -

Situations sometimes determine what you look for in a given at-bat, but generally I look fastball either over the middle of the plate or in my player's hot zone on the very first pitch. I stay with this approach until I get a strike. After a strike I look for something still in my hitter's hot zone, but not necessarily a certain pitch. With 2 strikes I'm just trying to find anything close and make contact.
But one thing I recommend is putting yourself in the pitcher's shoes and think what would I throw in this situation? I also recommend people use the pitcher/batter analysis to see how a pitcher has been pitching (fastball early in count, then off speed to get out..etc…)
If you go up to each at bat trying to cover all the zones against all the pitcher's pitches, then I think that leads to an extremely rough offensive outing. You have to have a gameplan and/or idea of what you think the pitcher is going to try to do to get you out.
It's also important to understand what pitches a pitcher has command of and what he doesn't. If a pitcher is struggling to get a curveball over for example, then I eliminate that pitch in my thought process because I don't have confidence that he can throw it for a strike.
Hitting is all about trying to determine the next pitch by process of elimination and recognizing patterns. The more you can eliminate in a given at bat or pitch, the more successful you'll be at the plate.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

What my philosophy is is simple... I do use guess pitch when it's available. I will look for fastballs and try to adjust and hold back (which leads to late swings)... But I also use the power/regular/contact buttons prior to the pitch and my stride.
With less than 2 strikes, I usually hit square for power, or x for a regular swing. 2 strikes, I usually hit circle for fighting off tough pitches, and trying to battle in the AB.Commissioner of the Donkey Punch Sports Leagues -,

After the first time through the lineup, you can see some patterns emerge depending on who is hitting, and from what side. I use the show 15 camera for hitting. That angle works best for me to differentiate balls from strikes. I've walked more this year than the last 3 years combined I think.Commissioner of the Donkey Punch Sports Leagues -,
