Improvements you can expect in the PS5 generation:

    - Faster load times: The PS5 will be using a new proprietary SSD that will not only load games faster but also load in game assets faster. There is actually a cool demo out there on the internet where Sony discusses how there was a hard speed limit on how fast a player could travel through the world in the Spiderman game due to how long it took to load in textures. They then demo how much faster you could move through the same world on their new SSD. It's very impressive.
Every console generation comes speculation and promises of faster load times. They haven't come yet. In several cases, load times are longer than they were one or two console generations ago.

Improvements you can expect in the PS5 generation:

      - Better framerates: The PS4 cannot go above 60 fps no matter what, but the PS5 will be able to go above 60, and will be able to utilize freesync when available in order to smooth out framerate dips.

      - Better and more dynamic crowds: crowds are a very CPU intensive task. The more powerful CPU in the PS5 with (most importantly) more threads will allow for better crowds.

      - More texture load: While I doubt even the PS5 will be able to handle real all-star game uniforms, the increased RAM may allow for the grass to be loaded in at all times.

      - More Consistent 4k/VR performance: While I still think 1080p "fast" mode will remain the best way to play the game (especially if we can get framerates over 60 with freesync) The added power of the PS5 will make 4k gaming smoother and VR more accessible.

Things to not expect for the PS5:

      - New character models. This is a big ask and it's highly subjective if it's even needed. New added body types is a better and more realistic ask.

      - Cloth physics: A big ask to program, a resource hog, and honestly after seeing it implemented in other sports games I kind of don't want it in the show.

If I have a TV with 240 fps and the PS5 runs at that or higher should t I be able to play the game at the highest graphics setting no problem?

Load times are a function of hard drive speed, or read/write bandwidth. There are other factors but with today's technology this is the clear bottelneck for load times. The PS4 utilizes an old school laptop hard disk drive, and doesn't have the programming to access information much faster even if the drive (which is user replaceable) is replaced with a solid state drive. The drive is an old school mechanical drive that spins at 5400RPM. It is literally the slowest possible way to access data that the modern era has available.

It has been confirmed that the PS5 will use a proprietary Solid State Drive developed by Sony. They have already demoed the technology to investors (using the PS4 Spiderman game to showcase the difference). Load times will be faster. Out of all the things I've stated, that one I can guarentee.

PS load times are longer now then they were before because games are bigger. Hard drive technology was stagnate for a long time, but over the course of the PS4's lifetime hard drive/SSD technology has made a massive leap forward. Any PC enthusiast can confirm that SSDs are commonplace now and are a significant improvement over traditional mechanical hard drives.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. First of all, 240 hrz is rare for gaming monitors, never mind a TV. You're more likely to find 100 to 120 hrz TVs these days. Secondly, the PS5 isn't some monster machine. Consoles are always weak compared to a high end gaming machine, and even they can't hit 240 hrz with maxed out settings in a high graphical fidelity game.

Based on what I know (and these are VERY rough estimates) I'd expect the PS5 to be between 30 and 50 FPS @4k, 50 to 80 FPS @1440p, and 80 to 150 FPS @1080p in a AAA title.

Welp if mlb 07 or mlb 14 or whatever year it was was any indication, the usual 1st mlb game on a new console graphics wise is a little underwhelming. Usually takes them another year or two into a consoles life to get the juice out of it in the past.
That said like mentioned now that itll be a AAA title may change things

I agree on the cloth physics for Playstation 5. Until they can get it 100% right, I don't want it. I remember when 2K did this and it looked awful. It looked like there was a hurricane in every stadium and everyone was wearing plastic bags.

They will have to differentiate between the cloth of the jersey and the sewn on numbers and logos, especially for teams like the Cubs. The Cubs logo (on the home jersey) should not bend and wave as if it's screen printed onto the jersey. I imagine this would tax the system tremendously to do it right.

Cloth physics isn’t essential but the different ways that players wear their jerseys is. At least a jersey with the top button or two open should be available.

there is no way in hell I'm waiting another year when I'm getting full minors out of the box AND team rebranding for the first time ever.
