Re: MLB The Show 20: Franchise Mode Rebranding, a Predictable But Nice Touch
In the video when he is playing with the new uniforms, he is still in Miami’s stadium. You can see the Marlin logo behind the plate. I hope he just selected the Miami stadium and there really are generic stadiums.
Also I hope when using the uniform editor, the “Old” uniforms stay available to use. I really want to create the early 90’s Rangers “Nolan Ryan” jerseys but want to use the new powder blue ones as well.Comment

A couple of things. You do know that was an internet hoax right? There were no buzzers. And I think the pitcher would have serious pain after all that buzzing through a game LOL.
Sign stealing is part of the game when it is done with the human eye.
This was an abomination of that and I am sure the commissioners office will be on high alert and cracking down moving forward on technology being used to steal signs.
Such a huge black eye on the league. What a shame. Now Playing on PS5:

I think you are gonna be in luck.. looking at the team screen where we pick our teams and users.. Marlins are not selected as USER and you can replace them with custom team by pressing R1. Cannot guarantee this, but it seems like it would be highly likely that since its not tied to user selection, you could replace them all.

A missed opportunity on this screen. They should've made it so you could swap the real teams from division to division, thus allowing division realignment. But all you're affecting is the branding of the team...rosters stay the same, which is why the option is not there, if I understand correctly.
You could still pull it off, but you'd have to trade all the players and import a custom "real MLB" team.
NBA2K allows you to do it with ease...we were so damn close this year, but all things considered, I'm happy with how far they've gone.Comment

According to the stream you can do rebranding during the off season and with that being the case I'm guessing I can continue my carry over franchise and rebrand. I'm halfway thru my current season. Need to play another 80 or so games in the next month.
This is great news.
Developers have fulfilled the #1 thing on my list. Thank you.Last edited by tessl; 02-13-2020, 11:01 PM.≡Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Video - Franchise Mode Customization Suite
Where did you see this “confirmation”? Not doubting, just curious and hoping it’s true we are getting some new stadiums.

Lol...oh well! I’m excited to try out the rebranding feature but yeah, not having a few generic stadiums to choose from kills the immersion for me.
I’m sure they will offer more going into the PS5 era but I thought if they were gonna roll the feature out this year that they would have at least thrown a few new stadiums in there in its introduction.
Still gonna give the mode a go though. I actually played last night and tried a few different minor league stadiums and narrowed it down to one or two that I’ll use in my rebranded franchise.
Regardless I’m still excited to get the game in my hands in about a month!

Did we get a definitive NO that the challenge system will NOT be expanded? Or was that not touched upon because it didn't have to do specifically with Franchise, DD, or RTTS?
I know people are split, but for the sake of realism, I personally would love to be able to challenge more than just out/safe calls at 1st base with no base runners on....that is literally the ONLY situation that it ever pops up in.
I'd love for it to be expanded to plays at other bases, like somebody steals 2nd or 3rd, maybe a play at the plate or a trap catch.
Maybe that's something that just can't happen until PS5.Comment

I'm guessing if they expanded it to other bases, they would've mentioned it in the gameplay stream.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I haven't spent much time looking at the minor league ballparks. The ones I looked at don't seem to have dimensions listed. Which ones are you considering?
One question I have is this - there is a quirk where player happiness depends on where he is from relative to location of the team. I wonder how that will be handled in the rebranded franchise.≡Comment

It doesn't really bother me although it would be a nice touch. I'm thinking about Old Miami, Shea or Old Atlanta because they have modern day dimensions unlike most of the classic ballparks.

Can’t remember the exact names but I think one is Statesmen Park(?) and the other is Capital Field(?). Looked for ones that had some stands in the outfield (to get a sense of the crowd size at the games) and backdrop of being in the middle of a city. I’m probably gonna relocate a team to Nashville and Capital Field has the backdrop similar to if there was a stadium downtown near the capital. We’ll dig a little deeper on the stadium choice once I have the new game

What happens to old uniforms once you rebrand a team? You create a new home and road jersey but then what happens to 70s,80s,90s unis?Comment
