pretty sure it will work just like the new MLB rule. Has to spend at least 20 or more innings out of his primary position to be designated as a 2 way player. That is how the rule is set up in real life, so I assume it will be the same in MLB 20.

So this would mean we can't create a player who is a 2 way guy.
Which means anyone that has that rule is up to SDS to have implemented it and we can't. so a position player would have to pitch 20 innings

but be interesting if we can make that change DURING a franchise. I am also assuming a DH counts to at bats. how does the game know the at bats limit as a position player and not count them as a pitcher at bat in the NL?

If I had to guess I would say this is only going to work in Franchise mode (pure speculation on my part). Meaning you can't just create a 2 way guy, but you can mold a player into a 2 way guy.

Basically Hunter Greene for example is considered a 2 way player. Only way in real life now for him to get that designation is he would have to play (using this as an example) 20 or more innings in RF in real life and pitch more than 20 innings in real life to be designated as a 2 way player. I assume this works the same way in MLB 20, because it is an actual rule.

So, if you want to take some random MiLB guy and make him a 2 way player these are the steps you have to take to do so. I'm assuming this logic will be in the game. Maybe a dev can come in and shed some light on the subject and clarify.

I wonder the percentage of draft prospects that will be rated accordingly to actually be capable of being molded to a 2 way player? Will there be a designation in scouting (I doubt it since they didn't mention it in the stream)? Will we just find out after the draft when we can see all of their ratings?

But in that case, they'd have to "unhide" the pitcher attributes in player edit for batters. Pitchers already ahve access to all hitting and fielding attributes.

I honestly have no idea. This is definitely a good theory, but I honestly have no idea how it's implemented. We will have to see once we get the game ourselves and just play around with it.
