He goes in Franchise threads every year since ‘18, and advocates for DD. Then talks about how franchise players like to complain, and how he’s “baffled” we want more out of the mode when it brings in no money. I don’t have any problem with him personally but he does it every year. Check his history if you want.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Preview: Franchise Mode, Real Minor League Rosters and Road to th
hopefully Sony finds a way to evenly distribute dev time to all the major modes (DD, Franchise, RTTS) AND make a fast buck doing it. I hate thinking how much I enjoy Franchise and Sony not being able to capitalise on that, keeps me awake at night worrying so much I cant sleep lol
Unless players return to Franchise mode en masse the only way they’ll distribute resources evenly is if the features being added or fixes being made are common to all modes. This is what needs to happen going forward - DD and card collecting should no longer be a seperate thing to the rest of the game. Yes there obviously needs to be distinct gameplay modes but everything needs to be integrated.
Otherwise the player base will continue to be an ‘us and them’, casuals will migrate towards DD (because that’s what gets the promotion all through the year) and as a result Franchise, M2O, H2H and even RTTS (despite its current popularity) will end up with a combined total of 10% of the total budget.

it's something that's killing sports games but people keep buying the crap. I wish governments would step in and ban these modes like Ultimate Team and DDComment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Preview: Franchise Mode, Real Minor League Rosters and Road to th
- Why would you spend 40 or 50 bucks to go to a movie that will be over in 90 minutes?
- Why spend hundreds of dollars for a meal at a fancy restaurant when you can make food at home that meets all the same biological needs.
- Why do people spend money on alcohol? It offers virtually no nutritional value and its effects are gone within hours.
- Why play franchise mode? It's just another monetized mode but in this case, its one where you are playing with virtual players that are completely worthless from the very beginning and never have any value.
The answer is the same for all of these things and its the same for those who play DD...it's for the experience...and the price tag varies from person to person as to what that experience means to them.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Preview: Franchise Mode, Real Minor League Rosters and Road to th
Personally, I’m only interested in playing through the current season. I use franchise mode almost like season mode but I’m just not that interested in player progression and drafts, etc. I just want to set it up and play it through and see how far I can get my team. But I want the ability to control all the levels so March to October doesn’t quite cut it for me.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Preview: Franchise Mode, Real Minor League Rosters and Road to th
Give me the option to manage my own roster during game days. Players can get injuries during games but all long term injuries are based on real life. Standings and stats would be close to real life, only impacted by my games and off by the differences in my results.
That’s what I want. Cause that’s essentially what I try to do each year with doing real life transactions for every team as the season progresses.Comment

Pre-ordered today. After trading in a few games to Best Buy and a 5 dollar reward certificate, I’m in at half price.

I just want an option to pull all of the real world results into my franchise and just play my own games. So any real transactions are handled and I could play my game on my time and watch real games and cheer for results that impact my standings.

This is why we don't see enough injuries in the game.Comment

VALUE is an individual perception and we all value things differently.

DD effects franchise mode because it takes away from the attention because it MAKES MONEY
if I want to have soft drink instead of Alcohol I can because a restaurant would have to cater for everything.
Yeah we can all play the apples vs oranges game. moving along nowComment

Till 21 legally in the US but can get a gun easy at age 18, it’s good down here that we hadn’t had a mass, shooting in 23 years ago thought gun laws would work?
Baseball ? Oh yeah that’s Right. I knew I’d pay for the DD comment, guess I’m getting old but I miss sports games when it was about the sport not fantasy teams digital cards designed like a mmo.Comment

The injuries won't work though there is a injury limit for the DL in the game, I remember last year I tried to manually do this with the yankees about put almost their whole roster on the DL couldn't even get half on there.
This is why we don't see enough injuries in the game.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Preview: Franchise Mode, Real Minor League Rosters and Road to th
Well its looking alot like the yankees will need all those spots again this season as they are already 3 SP down its looking like.. paxton, severino and german (suspended). Speaking of injuries im guessing it will be the exact same system again as the previous several years? no changes at all as far as new injuries being added or lengths of times for the ones there already adjusted or anything like that?
Yes the injury types are not much stupid things like broken fingernail or broken nose.
I would like to see rehab options from injuries depending how serious it is that be greatComment
