Any new ratings?

Has anyone heard if there’s any new ratings this year? Hoping for pitch framing for catchers along with a VS LH and RH attribute for pitchers. There’s a couple others that would be nice but was just curious if any had been added.

I don't believe so as none were mentioned during the streams of gameplay or when they unveiled the Diamond Club.

I would expect that if new ratings had been added, they would've mentioned it in one of those two streams.

They need to get a pitch rating for catches...some catchers call a better game than others.

it wont be a separate, new attribute but I seem to recall hearing pitch-framing stat had been integrated into catcher's fielding attribute.

A bit like pitcher's "pickoff move" attribute. Don't know what's so secret to not make it display only but at least it's in the game.

Unfortunately I would think adding any new attributes would negatively affect the Carry Over Save feature. I don’t see them adding anything new in that department in the near future. I would love to see a pitch framing attribute though.

if it were up to me, in carry-over saves with a new attribute, I'd set the default rating at 50.

Yeah it’d be great if it could be based on some sort of stat or a combination of other ratings.

id like to see a hand speed rating, pitchers with 99 velocity should be able to blow it by most hitters

The problem is things like this can be overdone and have too much impact on the game. Johnny Bench was one of the best catchers in the history of the game and the Reds pitching was never their strong point.

The guy throwing the baseball has far more of an impact than the guy catching.

Interesting idea for a attribute...at least one of the videos mentioned that some pitchers will be able to match there real life mph at times this year...players like chapman and others (even though his velocity has taken a slide the past 2 yrs. ) so that should be cool.

This game hasn't really added any new attributes in so long. The rating system is ridiculously stale and the only player ratings they revealed were for diamond dynasty...smdh. It's so cheap how DD players get to have over 99 ratings for specific attributes but franchisers can't get that. Thanks SCEA, always spreading the love!!

I play both DD and Franchise modes offline (and a HUGE amount of time to both)....let me tell you something, those 99+ ratings cause a LOT of game imbalance issues. Online guys are constantly complaining about the gameplay and honestly, I think a lot of that is a byproduct of those inflated ratings. Playing offline in franchise is a far more balanced and realistic game - and actually, some of the best animations/variety occur at LOWER ratings (like minor league games are a real treat to play).

Just...be careful what you wish for....that's all I'm saying

yep, I much prefer 0-99 ratings. the only thing that should be over 100 is exit velocity, hr distance and Jordan Hicks-type fastballs

I remember when ratings were bars, the "ratings" would sometimes be over 100. Think DD is the only spot this happens now...
