    Re: Manage mode players

My Yankees MoM season was alot different than what I am seeing here.

I went into the post season without Cole, Judge, Torres and LeMehieu because of season ending injuries. I ended up moving Urshela to SS, Andujar at 3rd, Tauchman and Frazier in RF, with My rotation being Paxton, Severino, Tanaka, and German.

We swept the Indians in ALDS before falling to the Angels in 7 games in the ALCS. Trout and Rendon were basically killed us the entire series. The Angels got on a major roll, taking out the Rays in the Wild Card game, beating the Yanks in 7 before losing to the Dodgers in 7 games in the World Series.

Strikeouts continue to a major issue as the Yankees had probably had 250 more strikeouts than their closest competitor.

It was really fun though. probably the most fun I have had with this game since 2016. Just started 2021.

Interesting. That's three different people who all had the Dodgers win the world series same as IRL. Speaking of Rendon in my franchise the Padres signed Rendon and immediately put him on the trading block. In 2021 he is still on the Padres - at second base - and still on the trading block. I'd like to have him but I'm a relocated Pirates franchise and the combination of budget problems and self imposed trade restrictions make it difficult to get him. I acquired Franco to play 3B and he is a good addition for the money.

I'm curious what attributes you focus on with the manager and coaching staff.

Which sliders are you using? For manage only. I was using Armor which seemed to work well.

I'm making the switch from NHL 21 to MLB 20 again and starting new (AGAIN) and using JoshC1977 sliders - not a lot of changes actually as the sliders seem pretty good "out of the box"

STILL wish I had a 40 man roster for pre season

Whether you have 40-man roster in Spring Training all depends on the roster you started your Franchise with. When you load up a roster prior to using it in a given game mode such as Franchise, you can edit which players are on each team's 40-man roster and the extra 14 players per team will be available to you in Spring Training games.

I drafted and have a 40 man roster but I can only use 25 of them without calling someone up from the minors - OR - can I play with all 40? I didn't think I could. You can only call a guy up 3 tiems without putting him on waivers. So if I call a guy up in pre season does that count?

                Default sliders. No changes.

You can only play with 26. Used to be 25. The 40 is to protect against them being picked up in the rule 5 draft.

Anybody on the 40 I believe is automatically in pre-season. If you wait until the end of pre-season and don't send anybody down the AI will set your 26 man roster for you and the players the AI sends down will not use an option. If you send them down they lost an option.

The option pertains to an entire year. You can bring a player up and send him down as many times as you want in one year and he only uses one option. The three options apply to three seasons. If he is out of options then he has to pass through waivers if you send him down.

Newly drafted players you don't have to put on the 40 man to protect them from the rule 5 draft. I think it's for the first 4 years but I'm not sure if the game does it correctly. The game is accurate on a lot of things but there are still a couple things it doesn't do correctly.

If you look at notifications there is an explanation in the game as to how that stuff works. Anything else you don't understand feel free to ask.
