Re: MLB The Show 20 Q&A Thread

Do I have to hit green on the throw meter to get an accurate throw every time, if so why? I noticed if im even slightly late or slightly early, the throw is off the bag, and its a single for the CPU. Is there any way to mitigate this feature? Is it my player ratings? Is it sliders?

Do you have to manage how long your reliever warms-up in the pen? I know you should wait until the red "ready" bar shows up to bring him in, but does it hurt to have him warming up for too long?
Sometimes I'm scrambling to warm-up a pitcher after giving up several hits in a row. Is it OK to warm him up real early and leaving him warming up for several innings, or will he fatigue?
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

Trade all the Astros Players to Brewers and Brewers players to Astros. Rebrand Astros as Brewers and Brewers as Astros.

Yes, you have to hit the green. The only way to make it easier is to have a player with better ratings. Your can mitigate the feature by turning it off. You can have it so you still manually throw, but errors are pure chance based on the said fielder's ratings and the difficulty of the throw, or you can go to full auto fielding.

If rebrand a team can you set what stadium games are in for simulated games?

Who thought that was a good idea? I understand maybe an automatic error if you max out the meter, but to have to make a perfect throw every single time for it to be accurate makes no sense. I assumed it would function as a meter. Whats the point of such a wide meter with an array of colors if it all means error if not in the middle green? I don't get that. Is the green area larger on any difficulty or slider setting? Is the green larger with good fielders?

There is no difficulty setting, but better fielders and easier plays will have a wider green area, like I mentioned earlier.

The meter does not indicate throw power. That is chosen automatically based on the situation and the animation branch points available.

Does anybody know whether it's possible to have a SPD/STL over 100 pts in your CAP?

My CAP is already at 99 and I want to improve him even more with a pair of socks which would cost me around 15 K, so before spending this money I would like to ensure first whether this is possible or not. I haven't seen players/CAPs with 99+pts. in this regard, have you?

In Franchise on the attributes screen of the player card there is a number at the top of each category that can be + or - depending on the player. For example, - 10 for contact against RHP.

My question is, is there a way to tell what the cause of the attribute boost/reduction? I know coaches can give a boost/reduction but there has to be something else too.

Anybody having issues with the in-game ticker? I've quadruple checked all my settings and everything is showing that theoretically it should be on occasionally throughout the game. However it has yet to pop up once while playing every game in my Franchise mode...

Stats. I imagine the player is playing below expectations against RHP.

Is there seriously no way to import vault players into a franchise that's underway?

What could possibly be the technical reason for that? Unbelievable.

I've been working tirelessly for a few weeks on a All Time league.

Because SCEA cannot fix the glitch where loaded rosters competely go off the rails when you move from Spring Training to Franchise, I waited until Opening Day to do all the roster tinkering for every team. Hours and hours of editing.

The league is off and running and it's fun as all hell.

Though I noticed that the Dodgers are missing Steve Garvey, the Tigers are missing Dizzy Trout, the Brewers could use Yovani Gallardo, and both Brian McCann and Adrian Gonzalez have their stats perfect, but generic C.A.P. faces which cannot be edited.

So I downloaded Garvey and the rest in the vault. Easy, I just import them into the franchise.

But no. It's not possible. It's not a total gamebreaker, but honestly I kind of want to cry

Someone will surely respond, "you have to finish editing the roster before you start the franchise". But here's the thing: you are incentivized NOT to do that because the rosters you select for the franchise - yes, even Ridins - do NOT stick in the actual game mode.

Ughh. I'm playing with the Braves and instead of playing with a perfectly-rendered C.A.P. version of McCann, I'm stuck with a version that looks like Andy Samberg. FML.

Strange.. my rosters did stick aslong as every level had 26 players.
