BB/9 is a pitcher's overall accuracy rating, and control refers to his control of an individual pitch. So, you could have a pitcher with low BB/9 still be fairly accurate with a pitch if he has a high enough control rating in it. I don't believe arm accuracy factors into pitching, although it's still an important thing for pitchers to have at least a little bit of, like all fielders. Clutch is quite a bit more ambiguous as to what it affects, although the main time it takes effect is when there are runners on base.

As for the second part.... There's a lot of randomness in The Show's pitching be it human or CPU, and it sometimes breaks for the pitcher (meaning more pitches land closer to where they actually aim), and sometimes for the hitter (more off-target, some landing for balls when they were aimed to be strikes, others landing in the middle of the plate). If there's one thing I've learned about pitching in this game since it started, it's that you have to minimize the risk of the bad randomness hurting you. And I think the CPU actually does a pretty good job of that, which is why a lot of its pitches land on corners instead of the middle of the plate - if it were a human playing I'd say it probably "aims" a fair bit of its pitches just outside the zone, and because of that the ones that do come back over the plate don't catch the middle as often.

When playing a huge amount of franchise games, Ive noticed that sometimes the pitchers accuracy comes and goes. I went against Rockies pitcher Jeff Hoffman the other day and I blasted everything he pitched. The next game I faced him he was painting corners and shut me out for 5 innings. So that probably factors is as well. The better rated pitcher has less of those types of games I would think.

Same of me if I have a guy with great control of his FB, I sit there painting corners all game. If I pitch with a guy who has little control, I rarely aim I just throw, because he doesn't know where its going anyway. (throw it at the BULL.....trust me...)

As an Xbox user, I've been trying to find out if my last name is in the Names/Nicknames audio database for MLB 20 to know if it will likely be in the game for MLB 21... Can anyone tell me if 'Detroit' exists in the audio database for created players as a last name? Thanks!!!
