Whoever worked on the UI and the “the show theme” scorebug needs a raise. Don’t think I’ve ever seen either so clean in a sports game before.

Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
I really, REALLY try and avoid this VERY thread each year as it's truly SPOILER ALERT CENTRAL...
SpoilerThere was a cutscene for in-between-innings at Fenway Park and they showed a close-up of the Pesky Pole (from behind right field) and there were "signatures" on the actual pole...nice touch.Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:

Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
Saw my 3B turning a sweet double-play by tagging the 2nd base runner and then to 1B.
May have seen it before but this one was so butter smooth with a sense of urgency to throw to 1B.
A beauty !!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
Several new additions to the Analysis and Game Logs.
There are now filters in the analysis screens for various exit velocities, perfect contact, and a few other things.
In game logs, certain game situations will now show up in a color-coded format. Critical situations, likely the sort that would throw you into a March to October situation, are highlighted in red. Critical plays, which I'm guessing is when something impactful actually dramatically influenced the game outcome, are highlighted in gold.
Further down the page we get my favorite of these new additions - a log of all Perfect-Perfect contacts during the game.
This was my first game played, and as you can see there were 3 perfect swings in the game, two by me and 1 by the CPU. All were hits. This is not always going to be the case, but in general these should have a very high chance of being a base hit. The place you're going to want to go to put SDS' claims on quantity to the test is this screen, followed by the Batting Analysis with the "Swung" filter. In this game, there were 121 swings. 3 perfects out of those swings is roughly 2.5%, which is very close to the mark SDS was aiming for. It's a small sample size of one game of course, but I'm only using this as an example. Difficulty level is going to play a big part in how many of these you get, and if you find that you're hitting a high % of them, you may want to consider going up a level. For this game, I was on HOF via dynamic difficulty.

just caught a batter looking with a questionable 3rd strike he didnt agree with, and Ithink it was DeRo that said it was close enough a robot ump might have called it a strike tooOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Dynamic Scorebug
I don’t know what triggers this but using the Brewers, the color for them on the scorebug is Navy. Playing a game now vs the Mets and their (Brewers) color on the scorebug is yellow.
Is it that if teams have a similar primary color, it changes one of them to contrast better?
EDIT: Been playing around with this. That is indeed how it’s triggered
-Only works on the new “The Show Theme”
-Road team is the one that changes color, when Mets are at Brewers their color changes to orange
-Doesn’t always work though, when I tried Mariners at Mets they were both blue and Nats vs DBacks both were red.
Pretty cool stuff overall by SDSLast edited by Bartolo Colon; 03-15-2020, 02:43 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
I don't know if it's just me, but swing animations seem better. Especially the two hand follow through's. I've seen some sweet smooth swings. Especially on home run balls.
Also, it looks like the trajectory of the ball is more realistic as to where it hits the bat. I haven't looked at this a ton, but seems like hard squared-up contact shows the ball hitting the sweet spot, but rolling over on a ball or popping one up, the ball hits the right place on the bat where that would actually happen irl.
And have many people have mentioned, the ball of the bat sounds are amazing.Comment

I like you can change the color of the catchers hockey masks and cages on the old style. I use the Phillies and Realmuto finally can have the red cage that he wears.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
Max Muncey hit a homerun off me. I can’t really explain his swing, but it was a super fast, completely horizontal short swing. I must have watched the replay 3 or 4 times. NEVER saw this in the game before. Wish I would have captured it. Sort of a “can you believe that” moment.Comment

MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things
I was spanking the Reds 10-2 in a home game at Rogers Center and during the 9th inning I could hear individual whistles and yells as the crowd thinned out in a blowout game. The way the whistles echoed sounded like I was really there. Nice.
All I needed was the drunk hecklers shouting from the upper deck.
