Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things

Playing at PNC Park, before breaking away at the end of an inning, the camera panned over the Pirates dugout from a low angle. You could see the letters in "Pirates" are a bit raised, giving them a 3-D look, and the cracks and imperfections of the cement that's painted black. Gives you the feeling of sitting right behind the dugout.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

pop fly right in front of the 1B bag - but about say 8 feet in front of the bag. The runner literally ran around him and went into the infield portion of the grass because there was no other way.

That impressed me. In the past and in other games, I've seen guys just run through a player like a ghost, or just touch him enough to bump him slightly out of the way. The guy literally ran a curve around him. pretty cool.

Matt talking about how lefty specialists from the bullpen going the "way of the dodo bird" due to the new MLB pace of play initiative

Also a cool little thing to notice when you're playing with The Show presentation, if both teams have the same primary color, the road team will be displayed in their secondary color in the scorebug kind of like Fox does

Playing at Fenway....the Citgo sign in left field just really adds to the authenticity of playing there.

Haven't played an NL franchise in forever, have a series at LA and the crowd was extremely sparse in the 1st inning but by the 6th the entire lower bowl was packed and the mezzanine + upper decks were way more filled out. That they put that famous late arriving Dodger crowd in the game is amazing

So this has happened a couple times, and it could be just a weird coincidence.....but I have hit back to back home runs and then the third batter up gets hit in the back with a fastball. Now, it could be coincidence but would also be kind of a cool thing where a pitcher loses his cool for a second and just decided to bean the next guy up after giving up back to back homers.

Are you gonna take that? I wouldn't. I'd nail the first batter I faced with a fastball in the ribs. If they wanna rumble, bring it.

If you pay close attention to the crowds in all stadiums, except those that normally stay full until the end, crowds will begin to thin as the game proceeds and, of course, if there is a blow out.

Also, the attendance graphic in the 8th innings represents the attendance at that very moment. You can always compare attendance with the game log, which shows the maximum attendance for that day. But it is also dynamic until it reaches max attendance.

Finally, at Dodger Stadium, you can also check the game log every few innings and watch the attendance grow and eventually reduce...pretty fun to watch.

I absolutely love this aspect of the game, making it ultra realistic. I like how they also do in NBA 2k, it makes it interesting when playing. Like as the Tigers in early April we were pulling around 20k to 30 k fans at home playing the Angels, while in last place. Where as the next series in Cleveland they were only pulling around 10-15k, as a struggling second place team, and who would want to see them play the TIGERS, lol. Especially in what was like 30 degree weather.

My little things impression so far since I just recently received the game from Best Buy.

From what I notice so far are the crowd sounds are so much improved. For example, I am playing MTO and the home team fans now knows when the game is close in the late innings and you need a run(s) to win the game. The excitement in the ballpark was thrilling! I have all the MLBTS from the past and never experience this before! It was fun to experience it!!..Nice!

I still play 17 (got it in late 2018) with updated rosters each year. I can't let it go. Should I move on? I'm finally starting to see some repetitive things, but then I see one more hit or play that I excites me.

I would highly recommend The Show 20. Haven't played 17 in some time, but 20 seems like a significant upgrade, gameplay-wise and graphically, just a tremendous-looking game.

College Hoops 2k8 would rank third on my all-time list behind The Show 20 and NCAA Football 14. Great game.

I like baseball games more than the other sports because I feel the results are more dictated by my decisions and strategy and not as much luck or button mashing and reflexes, like hockey and basketball games seem to be: Deciding on your lineup, when to pull your starting pitcher, which reliever to insert, when to pinch-hit, when to steal, sacrifice, what pitch to throw and what location, having the patience at the plate to wait for your pitch, anticipating fastball or off-speed. Whether I win or lose, I finish every game feeling I got what I deserved because of the decisions I made.
