Updates to coaches, players, etc.?
I can’t say I’m surprised but I’m definitely disappointed that David Ross is not the Cubs manager on MLB 20. I am curious, however, is there a chance he’s in the game at a later date? And if so would it possibly just replace the current, fictional manager that’s in the game? What about mid-franchise, etc.?

Re: Updates to coaches, players, etc.?
I've never understood why they don't just implement the ability to edit coaches. It seems like a simple fix to a rather annoying problem for players who use teams with fictional coaches.Comment

Re: Updates to coaches, players, etc.?
The coaches cant be edited just like the real players becuase they have the same rules id imagine. Ive noticed the Sds guys droppin in on a thread here and there would be nice to have seen there explanation for why so many coaches arent in speaking mostly of the ones which are not "new" to mlb coaching in general like Girardi and Baker so would paperwork still be a issue if they have been previously employed? and also if they dropped in on the minor leagers with just 1 option thread ...that one just seems so easy to addressLast edited by tytyboogie; 03-13-2020, 10:26 PM.Comment

Re: Updates to coaches, players, etc.?
I have mentioned this awhile back, when new coaches get hired and haven't been on the game or was removed a year or several years between cycles it will take a full year for them to add them back to the game.
ASTROS - Dusty Baker
PHILLIES - Joe Girardi
CUBS - David Ross
These coaches were yes once on the game and should have a scan and player model, but the track record with this situation is they wont appear as a real player until the following year, However they will have generics that look nothing like them and the audio will announce there names.
My take is it shouldn't be hard at all to have these guys back on game as coaches they were on MLB 17 I get it SDS cant go to back because the player model wont work with the new things they got going on , but MLB 17 models will work on MLB 20.

Re: Updates to coaches, players, etc.?
I wouldn't even need the scans for the current coaches, just give me the ability to edit coaches in general like I can draft picks and other players that the game generates. At least with the older games (17) I would draft players by position as in real life then go through and edit names, ages, positions (if needed) height/weight and then facial appearance using MLB's draft tracker page. If the cubs had 67 year old Joe Smith with thick glasses, Fabio's hair and a Brian Wilson beard but I could edit that character I'd do that to approach David Ross' appearance and info.Comment

Rocco Baldelli was in the game last year. And I'm pretty sure Aaron Boone and Alex Cora were added in a patch early in the cycle of their first year.Comment

This. I bet these managers will be added with an upcoming patch. I hope all the coaches are too.Comment

I would also like to see in the future if you could edit length of hair and add and remove beards for players on the roster. Cole has pretty short hair in the game and in real life he still has pretty long hair but is clean shaven.
