    Tigers Fans Franchise Roll Call/Help

    Calling all other Tigers fans!

Thinking of finally running my favorite team in franchise. Though still abysmal, I think they’re finally showing a bit of light. Being able to use Mize and Miggy chasing records in his twilight years may be able to keep my attention.

My problem lies in disliking a decent amount of the team, being so bad for awhile now, while trying to make deals for players I do like all while trying to stay realistic and compete somehow, some way.

Anyone else taking on this rebuild and have any tips?

I'm in the same boat. I dislike 90% of this team but I had my funnest franchises back in 06 and 07 with the tigers. It's so unrealistic to trade away everyone on the team though haha

I love to pick through the free agent scrap heap this time of year. Puig and Scooter would be worthwhile 1 year rentals, move Schoop to third.

I've got my eyes on Aaron Sanchez, converting him to a relief ace

The good old days back then lol. I enjoyed it soon after too because they had great teams. The year they got Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis joining up with Pudge, Ordonez, Sheffield, Verlander and the boys. So many holes now though. Bullpen, 3b, 2b, Corner OF.

Granderson is my favorite all time player, I also loved Inge and Monroe. I called up Brent clevlen and he had a magical rookie season for me haha.

I’d like to upgrade an OF spot and will move Christin Stewart as I think he’s a bust. Maybin is fine but other than that I don’t like what we have.

I'm liking the lineup of the Tigers, but I have a real hard time with the relievers outside of Joe Jimenez. The relievers are abysmal.

Luckily we have Manning, Skubal and Mize coming up soon. There's your top 3 pitchers. Faedo will be a good BP arm i believe. Add in we already have Norris and Jimenez in the BP.

As for the offense.. yikes.. Maybe Rogers is something behind the plate. Demeritte might be a find. Solid power irl. I'm a Parades truther. Think this kid could be something awesome. Candelario, Castro, Lugo could be good bench/platoon players. Maybe Candy figures it out and develops for you. Then add in Riley Greene. Kids got that IT factor in my eyes.

Detroit will as always be one of the teams I control. I will like I always have sim the first two seasons. Getting rid of tradable assets and bad contracts. Gives me two drafts and two free agency's under my belt before I start to get serious in my franchises.

Need to focus on the minor leagues and make sure said top prospect have a good year’s that will help them develop

I was just starting my Tigers franchise but will now stop and get the game tomorrow, start over with them again. They are one of the best teams to use IMO. They have a terrible roster with a few young arms, only a few tradeable pieces (I'm going with the storyline that I"m eating a lot of Miggy's salary if I can get a team to take him), great stadium, unis and haven't won a title in 35 years. I like to rebuild though. I'll get two or three top draft pick blue chippers to build around and trade for bull pen arms as well as sign some mid range guys. It's usually about year 5 for me when I'm really competitive but that's the way I like it. It lets me put my own stamp on it. I like doing 30 team control though.

I have no idea what took The Show so long to be able to include minor league players (I'm sure it was a collective bargaining thing with the union), but now that the Tigers top prospects come with the game, I'm absolutely starting a franchise with them. Manning, Mize, Skubal, Riley Greene. I might be a huge baseball dork (There aren't many of us left, but I think many of them are playing The Show), but I love the idea of taking the franchise from where it's at and building it into a monster by 2024 or 2025.

Thinking I might fully let it burn this year and maybe even the 2021 season (instead of picking up free agents to make the team better this year). Better draft picks for another year or two and then hit 2022 hard with free agents for position players and hope the young pitchers grow in the minors.

Also of note, I'm curious at some of the potential ratings for some of the guys in the minors. I don't want to edit rosters and make them all future superstars, but is Faedo really a "C" potential? Is Kody Clemens really a "D" potential? Time will tell I guess, no one really knows.

Are you planning on playing year 1? If so, I'd throw your young arms into the rotation, and maybe go with Puig/Scooter from free agency. Something I like to do with a young starter that isn't quite ready for a rotation, is put them in the long relief role. They get a pretty significant amount of innings, and I find I get good stats with them, that way. I would try to focus on getting ahold of someone with some speed, or a couple guys, and being able to manufacture runs. I traded for Dee Gordon, and he's only hitting .240 through 15 games, but he has 15ish steals and scores pretty often.
