Players will agree to deals they like less and you can pay any minor leaguer making less than the minimum

Thanks guys that's what I thought would be the case. I think I ignored the option in last year's version.

Our Ken Rosenthal has some breaking news Involving the Cubs and a possible 3 way deal? What's the latest Ken...

Thanks Greg. Word out of Cubs camp is that Kirby Pace whom the Cubs acquired from the Dodgers this past off-season wants out of the windy city. I'm hearing he was not happy at all with the trade to Chicago. Even though he is having a good season 5-2 with a 3.71 era, and the Cubs are one of the best teams, he wants out. Sources tell me he doesn't get along with Cubs manager Brandon Palmer, and hasn't since day 1. He has also had some, let's say "colorful conversations" with catcher Logan Wagner on occasion.

I'm also told the other 2 teams involved are the Phillies and Padres. The Cubs are said to be interested in Phillies catcher Nathan Bird to Platoon with the left handed Wagner behind the plate. Not sure how much Philly could take on in salary with Pace being owed 7.0m this season and next. The Phillies are at .500, currently in 2nd place 2.5 games behind the red hot Marlins, and would love to add an arm like Pace. The Padres who are 18-33 and dead last in the West on the other hand are looking to rebuild. Would they take a 31 yr old pitcher? Should be an interesting week or so to see how this all pans out. Greg, back to you....

After battling with them all season and then even getting within 0.5 games of the division lead in mid September, the Toronto Huskies fell off to end September and my Ottawa Mounties won the AL Central by 4 games and had the best record in the AL with 93 wins.

The Huskies won the wildcard game in a blowout, so it seems only fitting that we will be taking them on again in the ALDS.

Pretty excited ... Although I've been hitting poorly lately, so hope that turns around.

Question while I'm here ... What is the offseason like with CPU AI? I don't want to easily sign all the top players and have my team become a super squad ... Is the computer AI half decent and at all aggressive when signing free agents or is it pretty easy for the human to get who they want?

I simmed a season when I first downloaded Bacons rosters. I went after the Tigers Ace who was a free agent, I don't remember his name. But, my offer was more than the Tigers was and he still re-signed with them. So I don't think throwing money at a player will be an automatic signing

Aug 1st - No your eyes aren't deceiving you, Yes the San Diego Padres are in 1st place in NL West (64-49). The Swinging Friars are the hottest team coming out of the all-star break. Since the break the Padres have won 13 of their last 14 games. After hovering either side of the .500 mark for most of the season as the weather has turned hot so have the Padres. The break seems to finally have gotten both the offense and defensive sides of things working at the same time.

San Diego's current run of form have many wondering if the front office will reverse their position on the future of manager Willie Peterson. It's been well known that the Padres planned on not renewing Peterson's contract when the season ends. However those reports where when the team was struggling. If the Padres finish the season strong will the GM reverse what was at one time a forgone conclusion on the managers future?

Caleb Graybow (Marlins) is the story of the year in my Raleigh Capitols franchise. Dude was a 79 rated backup IF to start season. When I traded my starting 3B (who was terrible), I inserted Graybow in at 3B, he’s not only been one of my best players on the team, but now mid-August he’s one of the best players in the league! He’s currently rated 87 (his 5 year deal and 6m per, which is a steal, has helped). He’s at .326 33/85 with a month and half left. My Capitols are still 5.5 out of the Mets, but now only 1.5 out the WC. Graybow is the man💪

Man this game is out to get me. Now Kobe Yamamoto is out for 1-2 months! So that's 4 MLB outfielders all currently injured and over the course of the season 3 of my minor league outfielders have been injured for 1-2 months roughly during the same period. [emoji34]

Hello again everybody, Len Kasper along with Jim Deshaies bringing you the latest news on the Cubs right here on the Marquee Sports Network. Jim the Cubs had a 10 game road trip, 4 in San Diego, 3 with the Pirates and 3 with the Brew Crew. What looked to be a relatively easy part of the schedule turned out not so easy. The Cubs went 6-4 on the trip with what looked to be a promising one, taking 3 of 4 to start out against the Last place Friars.

Well Len, the biggest news came at the end of the trip on the off day. The Cubs were involved in a 3 team trade that saw Kirby Pace shipped out. The Phillies took on Pace and his $14m contract along with Cubs Catcher Benji Perez and CF prospect Bobby Franklin. The Cubs got Nathan Bird, the young catcher with a ton of upside. Along with Bird the Cubs got super utility Jason Swain and a High RF prospect by the name of Keenan Taylor.

The Cubs then sent Keenan Taylor and minor league 1B Ethan Houser to the Padres for Starter Alexzander Starks. I asked Cubs GM Cal Varnson about the trade, "We think all teams benefitted from this trade, San Diego got 2 good prospects and Philly got a Veteran arm and backstop to help for their push to make the playoffs. We got a quality arm in Starks and a really good young cather to platoon with Logan Wagner." Len, seems to me the new Cubs GM is not afraid to pull the trigger on trades.

Thanks JD, I can't wait to see the new guys help this club try and pull away from the pesky Reds who are right on our heels, only a half game out. We'll see those Reds for the first time starting this Friday for a 4 game series that should be a fun one to watch!

Well that's all for now, For Jim Deshaies I'm Len Kasper. We'll see you soon Cub Fans!
