Thanks was just curious how the path was laying out for you and the rest of the League.

One quick question if you don't mind. How did Cleveland pan out in your World?

Cleveland finished in 5th with a 65-97 record. 29 games back on the White Sox and 9 games back from the 4th place Tigers. They were in the bottom of most offensive categories and had the second worst home record in the MLB (29-52) In 2020 they made it to the WC game with an 89-73 record. Losing Paul Keys and Eric Rowe looks like it set them way back. They were pretty desperate at one point as they offered me some unappealing trades early in the season.

The series heads back to Philadelphia as the Padres extend the series to a deciding 5th game. Taking the mound for San Diego is Greg Dickerson. The Padres will hope Dickerson will break out of his funk as he's struggled since returning from a shoulder injury. Meanwhile Philadelphia will try to continue to stifle the bat's of the Padres and move one step closer to the World Series. It's a winner take all NLDS game 5, Padres versus Philadelphia is up next on the MLB Network, your home for baseball.

              Padres 2021 Season Wrap-Up

The curtain has fallen on the 2021 MLB season. San Diego made their first playoff appearance in nearly 15 years. The Padres took their opening round series to a 5th game but couldn’t get over the hump. Despite the early exit from the playoffs the Padres front office can be proud of what they have achieved in such a short time. The Swinging Friars improved over the previous years win total by 10 games. San Diego is a team that with a few minor changes could be title contenders come the 2022 season. The Padres GM will be looking to bring in some run support to go along with the best pitching staff and defense of the season. Other teams should be on notice that it’s a new day in San Diego and that 2021 was just the beginning a thought that has many fans eagerly anticipating the new season.

The Chicago White Sox are your 2021 World Series Champions beating the Cincinnati Reds in 7 games. The White Sox clinched the title in a thrilling fashion winning in a 13 inning game that went late into the night.

Alright that's a wrap on The Padres fictional franchise until the Show '21 is released. I'm sure we'll be getting some rule changes and don't want to get caught midway through a season when the new game comes out. Also tired of playing the same inter-league opponents. I've simmed up until the winter meetings so there's a bit of anticipation already in place for me. There's been some big moves around the league which could shake things up considerably. Only thing I have left to do is edit some of the rookies that I will base on new players from Bacons updated roster.

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

So here's a question: at what point does my franchise start being fictional? I mean obviously by the loose definition I could claim it right after the first day, but I'm not trying to be a smart Alec here.

Asking because I'm still playing my carry over from 2014. I'm in the year 2022. The majority of players are fictional at this point.

Not really sure if it's even a question that needs an answer, just curious what other people's thoughts are on it.

The fictional in the content of this thread is that we are all Baconites. Meaning we use Bacons Fictional Roster for our Franchises. So every player in the League is a fictional creation of Bacon our Savior and Leader. It is a movement that is widely spreading and becoming more popular. A lot of us feel the game actually plays better and the world is more alive and rewarding when we play this way.

Let's say the prime years of a player are 25-32. All but the elite players from the young end would be nearing the end of their careers. A save from 14 would also have fake minor league players.

My verdict... You have a fictional franchise!

In the OP, I preface that this thread is for fictional rosters so you're welcome to post anything franchise content that is fictional related in this thread and I would be relevant.

I hate to see this thread stagnate. I had to start over as I had a hard drive issue. But all is good now. If people are interested I will start posting my franchise next week. May not be prolific poster or that good as I have never really done it. But i would be willing to give it a shot to keep Bacons roster out in front of folks

Yes post your stuff man. I've been waiting for some new story lines. It was pretty active early in the year and then it started dropping off then it was down to just my updates now nothing. Hoping things pick up as the weather cools off.

I finally won my first World Series with the Cubs since starting to play MLB The Show back in 2009! All it took was Bacon's fictional rosters!! Marcus Daniels whom I traded for from the Angels, was in their Minor leagues and had a D potential and a 61 OVR when I traded for him. He turned out to win the ROY with 26 HR's 78 RBI and a .286 avg.

Instead of continuing this franchise I started another with Bacon's updated rosters. I'm going with my Cubs again and yes, I traded for Marcus Daniels again! Want to see if lighting will strike a second time! Will probably be the only move I make for a while. I feel like I made too many trades in spring training last time bringing in a lot of top rated players. I'm gonna make it a little more difficult this time and keep some of the high contract guys around.

I'm about 4 games into Spring training and will update soon.

Would love to see updates about your franchise. I haven't been on Franchise too much myself and that's the main reason for my own lack of posts. I will be starting a new franchise soon however, likely after the Brewers get bounced in the playoffs.

Great to hear but I definitely wouldn't anticipate Marcus Daniels as being a player everyone would want to target. Another reason why I love franchise with these rosters, unpredictability!

My fictional Padres make the playoffs then the Padres make the playoff IRL, coincidence? I think not! I'll take credit for the real Padres playoff birth. You're welcome San Diego.
