Re: Road To The Show Thread

Like others here, my SP is performing terribly on HoF difficulty. Might have a lot to do with switching from pulse pitching (which I used for the last 12 years) to meter. My ERA was 11, then I was offered the late relief role which I took and brought my ERA down to 5 point something with six straight saves, then back in SP role I’m getting crushed again.

    I’m absolutely loving it!

I really am. Most of the time I’m struggling to throw good pitches so I’m putting myself in bad counts and forcing my hand which is why I’m getting nailed. It’s so good because I know it’s my fault.

Dont go to college. Just dont. I went through all four years to the end because it would match my age IRL, and i got drafted 4 straight drafts all to the Tigers with the first pick. Also, you start with a 47 OVR after HS I believe, after all 4 years of college I only started with a 49 OVR.

So to go back and re-enter the draft this year its honestly pointless. You dont actually grow and just lose early years.

My pitcher finally started to settle in. played 3 games today.

1st game- went 8 innings with 2 hits and a shut out.

2nd game went 7 innings with giving up 1 run. ended up with a no decision

3rd game- pitched another 7 inning shut out.

Improved my stats a lot but my ERA is still in the 4s.

Im finally getting the hang of analog pitching

Re: Road To The Show Thread

I just finished the last of my Spring Training games for a number of RTTS players I have carried over from MLBTS19 into this years game and the regular season is set to start today. I am hoping what I am about to say does not carry into the regular season but I noticed something strange for both of my 2 RTTS starting pitchers (one who plays for the Braves and the other who plays for the Padres). As the screen loads prior to entering the game, it shows the boosts our own players have as well as the boosts we give our teammates. But why is my pitchers confidence taking a major hit prior to the game even starting. My Braves pitcher took a -75% to his confidence before he even threw a single pitch. Huh? Have have yet to see any negatives to my positional players, but both pitchers have experienced negative confidence hits before their games.

PS: both pitchers are poised to start their 4th season at the MLB level as both were created in MLBTS17. Both pitchers have established relationships with all the team members who are not new to the 2020 team. Weird stuff I tell you.

I believe that's a confidence-lost modifier. For example, if you see 75%, that means that your pitcher will lose confidence 75% slower than normal (which is why it's listed a a minus percentage).

So you aren't starting the game missing confidence, you will just lose confidence slower that you normally would when you have bad results.

I ported my Starting Pitcher for the Miami Marlins from 19 to 20 to start the 2021 Season. After the first game the following game I suddenly become a Left Fielder and I'm batting 6th compared to 9th as a SP and then a pinch hitter the following game. What the heck game?

I'm having my yearly problem of destroying AA, playing really well in AAA, then looking like I can't play baseball when in MLB.

Every year. I'm tired of the raised difficulty in RTTS while in MLB. The higher rated players should be difficult enough.

(I know Dynamic difficulty would stop the level spike, but I don't like playing Dynamic.)

Seems like in previous versions pitchers threw everything down the center of the plate, not like that now and my guy is a 50 ovr so unrealistic to be hitting .400 so enjoying my game . plus taking pitches and such is making me a better hitter than swinging at almost every pitch. will help when I get to the majors. all in all I am enjoying the experiance

Have been having a good season so far team is currently 2nd in SL North at 27-18 just one game behind the Biscuits. Im currently a 63 ovr Hoping i can get called up to AAA soon.

My only complaint so far is that it is too easy to steal bases on this game. ..

How long has it taken for you all to get called up to the show? And what type of numbers did you have to have?

Is there a way to pick your team but also go back to college for at least a year or two?

Also how do you not get called up literally right away? I’m 18 with a 62 OVR and got called up to AAA and then the MLB by July! I’m already playing on Legend and thought I was getting hit around a good amount. Might need to bump up the sliders

I deleted it and am making a new one because that’s too unrealistic for me. I’m going to

Finally made it through the first year on both my characters.

My pitcher I ended up going ending the year 8-9, up from 2-7 to start the year. Signed a contract to start year 2 in AAA ball.

My third baseman got called up to AAA ball right after the all star break the first year. He was hitting 295 With 1 HR and 21 RBI. In AAA ball he started off hot but ended the year at 250 BA with 3 HR and 17 RBI. He signed a contract to be the MLB starter and is hitting around .280 1 HR with them after probably 7-8 series. He was hurt for like 2 or 3 series though. Not bad for a 19 year old

have a SP flamethrower got drafted by SD, pitching seems way more rewarding this year, but also punishing if you try and rush through an AB, at least for me anyways lol

I brought my pitcher from 19 into 20. Drafted by the White Sox, trader to Baltimore, then to the Reds and now he’s with Oakland.

None of those teams have even sniffed the playoffs.
